Darlo v Salford

Post by Darlo_Pete » Sat Feb 27, 2016 4:29 pm

Are we being forced to segregate this game for away fans, when I'd be surprised if they bring more than 50 to the game? What a waste of money as we'll have to provide toilet and catering facilities.

If there are only 50 Pete, we could put them in the toilet, and they can watch through the door/windows.

I'd have thought it was at least recommended by the FA if not mandated. There must a way we can work it out that they only need 100tickets at most...

Darlo seem to raise their game better against their promotion rivals (Blyth, Salford) than Salford do. OTOH if Salford lose this one their Top 5 place starts to come under threat so maybe Salford need the point(s) more?

Nothing on the website about tickets and Id have thought it's a bit late in the day to announce that now... Unless anyone knows any different?

Got to be just a big a game as the away game hasn't it? As they have overtaken us in the league (although we have 3 games in hand being 1 point behind).

Looks like Leon is going to be missing, so hopefully 4-4-2 with Portas coming in as a direct replacement.

Six points needed from this game and Nantwich on Saturday preferably after the dropped points in the last two games, will be very difficult obviously. Lots of teams on winning runs and very little margin for error.

I think there's an ancient chinese proverb somewhere, goes something like this...

"Confucious, he say it better for one day to be prize fool who no think before he type, than be gormless twat for life".

Was thinking of getting Highways Agency to shut the A1, just to discourage the Salford contingent but then thought better of it as we have a number of players who also have to travel up that way!

Wonder if they'll be a precautionary pitch inspection as it's been raining fairly steadily this evening?

Just at the ground having a sneaky look.Standing water in the centre and other usual places.Should be able to clear if no more rain. Think the strong wind might help.

From a drainage point of view, that pitch is now probably worse than most of the school pitches in the North-east.

Think the fans have a huge role to play tonight we have to be vocal and hostile but not to the point where it crosses the line and detracts from supporting the lads. If we fall behind we have to drive the team on.

The fans may have a greater role to play than you think ... including getting there early to lend a hand forking etc. to get the game on.

What's the cut-off time for when the pitch has to be playable - before Salford set off for the game, or when the ref arrives at the ground? Presumably the fans who help out forking the pitch would have to be not working at their day jobs this afternoon?
