75' Away from the intermittent hailstones, little to report in the way of action. Darlington defending well, Marine not up to much. 0-1

FT: Marine 0 Darlington 1. Burgess with the goal, his sixth of the season. A test of character in such awful conditions. Fully deserved win.

Doesn't matter that most of the others have won, we did the important thing. Great win in what sounded awful conditions! Bring on Tuesday

Brilliant news and now 7 out of a possible 9 since the midwinter break isn't too shabby.

It's definitely 2-2 - they'll correct that when they realise. Their league table is out too - Workington are still 2nd... a point ahead of Salford.

Here's the correct table:

Ideal scenario would be 3 points on Tuesday, and a Workington win over Blyth!

A deserved win, gutsy performance, scoreline flattered them, their keeper made some great saves. Browny was my MOTM. My only concern was Cartman and Gaskell both missing easy chances, those 2 have not quite clicked recently have they? Guess with all these games coming up MG will have to rotate the forwards. Thought Army could have been brought on a bit earlier to hold the ball up in that wind. But as I said great performance.

A great result I thought BrownThompson and Turnbull had a good game. A concern is the forwards are not scoring hope this changes soon. We could have been 4 goals up at halftime.

All forwards go through a lean spell let's hope they overcome it soon

And continuing to win, when strikers are going through a lean time, is an added bonus.

Only watched the highlights but what a game Thommo looked to have had. He'll have wondered how the hell he didn't get on the scoresheet mind. He's really at the top of his form at the moment.

Thompson was superb on Saturday. Always an outlet, always willing to run at the opposition and was very unlucky not to find the net. Not far behind him was probably Gary Brown, patrolled the backline really well, flung himself into challenges and cleaned everything up which came into his area, particularly in the second half. In fairness everyone did their part on Saturday, it was a really good team performance.

We should have been more than 1-0 up at the break. We dominated the first half. The weather made it hard in the second half and while we perhaps didn't dominate in the same way we kept them at arm's length. It probably doesn't come across in the highlights but the weather really was bad. Marine looked pretty clueless going forward mind. I think they only had one shot of any note and that came right near the end. I can't believe we lost to them at HP earlier in the season.

I also thought our offside goal wasn't offside and their number 4 perhaps should have walked for his challenge on Cartman. I would love to see some stats but I suspect along with Thompson he must be one of our most fouled players over a season.

It did look a bit strange and naive to be caught from a freekick. I tried to look on the highlights but the back line isn't in shot which is a shame.

There were a few offside flags for Gaskell as well where he seemed to be looking along the line so if he was off then it was very odd. Half a yard either way can disort AR/players perception of on/off though.

It was orange, so yellow was probably right. The time taken to dish it out demonstrate it was a darker shade of orange. I think Brown needs to be careful as well mind there were 2 tackles he made which were a bit uncontrolled and a bit wild.

DarloBill's tweet makes a convincing argument for it being onside. http://twitter.com/DarloBill/status/693912494457372672

will have a look - the Marine defence reaction didn't sell the offside. They were looking at each other rather than the officials.
