Re: League Table
Why don't you look on the Evo stick website and don't expect others to do it.

Re: League Table
Let's try and be fair both ways?
If you run a website, there is an expectation that you will keep it up to date. This is a real burden, as I know only too well from one (nothing to do with football) that I run myself. But an out of date site is not a good thing.
On the other hand might not a gentle PM, asking if something can be done, be a better way of encouraging an update, rather than a post which could be seen as an unfair and unnecessary moan?
If we all try to understand where others are, the world generally and darlofc.co.uk in particular, would be a better place. Sorry for the philosophy!

Re: League Table
You could also check the clubs official website which is excellent quality, updated regularly by volunteers who do a fantastic job, and is of a ridiculously high standard for a team playing in the Northern Premier League.
The league table on there was updated yesterday afternoon not long after the game finished. Failing that, the official league website is updated regularly.

Re: League Table
You could always volunteer to do it yourself. I'm sure the offer would be appreciated by our overworked volunteers.

Re: League Table
The Flashscores website comes up with the table standings during the games, but sometimes contain errors until the games are over.
Evo-Stik website takes a bit longer, but are right first time.

Re: League Table
dsr, you're right(of course).
You do, however, have IT skills of which I can only dream.(I only think that PM means Personal Message. How one does this is beyond such as me)
Thank you for your positive contribution

Re: League Table
Whilst we're asking for favours, is there any chance any chance of getting the prediction league table updated?

Assuming you're referring to the one on here, you can thank whoever decided to change the code on the page I get it from. I need to update my parser.Jeff Jones wrote:Can we have the League Table updated please?

Re: League Table
surely it cant be that hard just to find 5 mins every week to update the table and fixtures/results???
yes its done by a volunteer but cmon, people have some spare time now and again............

Re: League Table
The biggest time consuming issue is probably the prediction league. Perhaps it is time to give it up for this season allowing for more important issues to be updated.

I take it you are volunteering? If not best to

Re: League Table
Updating my table parser to cope with whatever's changed at the other end is NOT a five minute job, I can assure you.bertbanger wrote:surely it cant be that hard just to find 5 mins every week to update the table and fixtures/results???

Prediction league fixtures take a couple of minutes a go to do - alas, I let a couple slip and then they just started to pile up a bit. It'll probably take me an hour or so to get caught up now. But that one's my own fault.
Re: League Table
Right. League table parser is fixed.

Re: League Table
Just the results to sort now Mikky!! It all sounds pretty technical and as I don't know what a parser looks like I'll not offer to help. Thanks for your efforts
