Presume that's 635 paying customers? Most clubs at our level would be ecstatic with a crowd like that. Well done Bert... Beers are on you!

When you deduct ST holders from our average crowd, probably similar gate receipts. PLUS Prize money.

Poor game looked like we were not interested in progressing in the cup could easily have gone either way

The game itself was quite entertaining.darlo reborn wrote:Poor game looked like we were not interested in progressing in the cup could easily have gone either way
As for not looking interested, that is simply not true at all. Try telling that to Galbraith, Scott & Youhill who were excellent today.

Agree Youhill was excellent and put some good crosses in but still think especially first half we did not look interested. Might have been due to the players not playing with each other much.
Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.
Still the second highest attendance of the round by the looks. Played well in bits, but were exposed at the back on a few occasions, Jameson one really good stop. Bright spots were Novakowski, Callaghan and Youhill who played well. Hymer did OK, didn't get a great deal of service but his movement was good. Walton grew into the game and took his goal well, Hume looked a bit lightweight but to be fair was brought on a difficult time in the game and was put under a lot of pressure when he got the ball. Cartman still the difference when he came on.

So what was Hymr like and when is the draw for the next round?

Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.
Mission accomplished.
Hymr learnt about pace and physicality required from his first competitive game in England.
Youhill and Nowakowski showed their talents and the two kids had decent run-outs.
Some match practice for others who haven't been ever-presents
Portas & Turnbull rested for forthcoming challenges

Turnbull wasn't rested he's injured.
Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.
Is it right that Turnbull will be out for several weeks with a broken jaw?

Certainly seems to be the unconfirmed rumour, at least what I was informed also.LoidLucan wrote:Is it right that Turnbull will be out for several weeks with a broken jaw?
Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.
I think it's right. Sounds like he may have been a victim and not on a football pitch.
Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.
Considering the number of changes I thought we did quite well.
Both teams had spells in the game, but glad we still got through.
Youhill was great down the wing hopefully he gets some more gametime now!
Nowakowski definitely is going to be useful where ever he is used and Tez had done really well at CB these last few games!
Unsure about Hymr didnt get a lot of service though

Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.
I don't think I've ever seen a faster player in a Darlo shirt than Youhill and his technique is spot on. Lewis Walton also looked promising, with the most under-stated goal celebration you'll see! Nowakowski has the look of a player who'll become an ever-present. Can't be beaten in the air, is so strong and knocks the ball about well too.
Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.
Anyone know why Mitchell was suspended? The match programme only shows 4 yellow cards unless they have missed one.

Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.
I remember Turnbull getting a clattering around that area against Mickleover, unless you've heard anything that would suggest that this isn't how the injury occurred.LoidLucan wrote:I think it's right. Sounds like he may have been a victim and not on a football pitch.
Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.
It didn't occur during the Mickleover game. I was told it happened the following day.
Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.
Good to get through today with all the changes to the team. The comments on Nowakowski performance are promising considering it sounds like Turnbull may be injured for a while. Could be a great option for us in the centre of midfield, powerful.and strong winning lots in the midfield.

Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.
You can certainly see why Gray has signed Nowakowski, he ticks all the boxes (strong, versatile, vocal & combative).
There were some strong performances out there today, namely Galbraith, Scott & Nowakowski who all battled when needed. Youhill was excellent also.
Pleased to get through to the next round with such a long injury/suspension list (I make it 8 players missing today). Hopefully we should have a number of players back for next Saturday.
