Waste Auckland V Darlington FC Cancelled

Post by poppyfield » Thu Oct 22, 2015 2:22 pm

From there twitter site,

DCC game against @Official_Darlo has been cancelled and West progress to the next round as 1883 previously played an ineligible player.

Pity that as it would of got a couple of players bans out the way

Wonder if the away game at Frickley Athletic can now go ahead?

What a shame...(although the suspensions to get out of the way would have been handy)

They also couldn't resist with the name could they. Horrible little club.

Why didn't we think of this a couple of years ago
Gets us out of a cup we are forced to enter just hope there is no fine
Shame though that Thommo now misses the more important Trophy game

Total w*nkers. (I'm referring to the 1883 jibe)
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

The team that night was, not who the ineligible player was though.

Darlington: Provett, Lazenby, Marley, Walton, Youhill, Brobbel, Padurariu, Scott, Bell, Armstrong, Dowson

Smallest of the small clubs in this country. I'd say their attitude is trying to compensate for the microscopic size of their private parts.

Shame Thompson and White will now miss Mossley rather than West Auckland when they wouldn't have played anyhow.

The name thing is just a last try of being noticed and to get some attention, quite sad really but not suprising.

I would imagine it's too late to get our game v Frickley back on, so a clear week ahead of our Trophy game.

It's probably the closest West will come to winning a game for the rest of the season. I reckon our Under-17s would have been capable of doing a job on them.

Someone dropped a clanger and I'm sure the young lads who would of played on Tuesday will be disappointed.

Maybe a daft question, but why are West getting a bye?

Surely Billy Town should now play them?

Cardiff have not been under FAW since 2010 so no clearance required

Co-incidence that Shildon v Ashington has to be replayed as a player did not have international clearance? The same game Bell came on for them.

If that's correct then that means he will have played 3/4 league games without international clearance. Points deduction coming our way?!

Shildon have said that no points deduction or fine will be incurred which leads me to think that it's an error on the FA side of things, I reckon we were given the chance to replay the Billingham game but rejected the chance. Did we pick up any league points with him in the team?

Looks like I have to retract that, what I'd read must have been bollocks. This article seems to confirm that players in and out of the Welsh clubs playing in the English league still need international clearance

Bollocks.....

Bell played in the following:

Workington A Lost 2-1
Colwyn Bay A Won 4-2
Blyth H Won 2-1
Halesowen A Won 3-0
Ramsbottom A Won 2-1
Hyde H Lost 2-3
Ilkeston A Drew 1-1

We obviously can't replay them. It also seems bizarre that it's only just come to light.

Let's hope that this has been an administrative error on the FA's side of things, rather than us.

As Divas says, strange that this has only just recently came to light. Most cases of fielding an illegible player comes straight out after the match that the ineligible player has played in.

Just found this:

http://nonleague.pitchero.com/news/mari ... nts-22578/

If that is anything to go for, we are in serious trouble. Player signed from Wales - the points won in the game he played were deducted.

If the information posted about the games Bell played in above is correct, we gained 13 points whilst he was in the team/squad.

Best case scenario could be a small points deduction and a fine, worst case scenario could be a 13 point deduction, which would well and truly derail our season and undo a lot of the great work done this season.

Anxious wait to find out our punishment......

Got me thinking - it's ridiculous you have to obtain international clearance when signing a player from a club which plays in the English league system, the exact same league system we play in. Absolute joke.
