The extensive thread here is about right!
We've had the bulk of the ball but their keepers not made a save yet.

Wow, interesting final whistle. Think whitey was sent off, then some very harsh words exchanged

That's all we need FFS!

Marine will take points off a lot of top teams this season. Strange side, they have the best defence in the league (only conceded 8 goals) and nobody has lost fewer games than they have. Yet they sit in the bottom half. They just don't score goals.

Pretty poor game really. Losing Portas so early was a big blow and we lacked any drive through the middle as a result.

The penalty looked very soft to me but I didn't have the best view. Both their number 11 and 9 were incredibly theatrical.

Didn't look like a pen, and in the build up the ref and linesmen missed a push and foul on white before his tackle. White getting himself sent off after the whistle isn't very bright though, guess he'll get 3 games, just hope Hunter is back before his ban starts.

0-0 would have been a fair result, although I think they shaded it. They are Very tough team to break down and will take points off a lot of teams.

Gray needs his arse kicking. Scott was never going to be able to do the job expected from Portas. Watson should have come on and Galbraith moved into the middle.
Another reason he needs his arse kicking is that the formation change came far too early and 433 doesn't work with two players who act as target men.

Poor day at the office, got to be said,

My 3 points from that game
1. Scott, sorry but he is not good enough at this level, and more annoying is we have Watson sitting on the bench who can play midfield and is a far better footballer.
2. Hunter is ok defensively , but going forward is woeful, and more annoying is we Mitchell sitting on the bench who can do both.
3. Our captain Burgess needs to be more vocal a bit of encouragement to the team when heads are dropping is sadly lacking.

MG needs to get this sorted, Marine were one of the poorer teams we have played so far and quite simply we should of won.

No cohesion, lacking commitment, caught in two minds, for me the worst we have played this season, marine came with a plan to whined up as many darlo players as they could ,new signing not been on winning side all season so it continue,s ,marine were worth their win,no complaints from me we were bloody awful, never got going and were never at the race,s today.move onto next week at mickleover and put this game down to a bad day in the office.martin Gray will sort it I have no doubts about it.

Didnt do enough to win. Did we have a single shot whole game? Pedestrian throughout, no creativity, no intensity. Gray wasted his visit to Washington midweek. As soon as we went three up front, they looked the more likely to score. If we had to go three up front, then Thompson had to be one of them, unless injured.

They were a big, difficult, well organised side to play against but what was so disappointing today was what we did (or more to the point didn't do) when we had the ball. The number of times we just gave the ball away, put it out of play, over-hit passes or just handed them easy clearances with punts that dropped onto the heads of the giants was ridiculous, particularly in the second half. We just got poorer and poorer as the game wore on with no spark or ideas of how to break them down. The keeper had nothing to do. Bad day all round in front of what was a decent crowd.
I agree that a bit of mobility in the middle would have been the right choice after Portas went off. We looked slow, predictable and lethargic.

I was at the opposite end of the pitch but it certainly looked to me like White pushed their lad who didnt miss the opportunity to go down.

Disappointing performance all round.

Marine were organised, but that was it. Didnt think Scott had a bad game really, but we missed Portas. Hopefully it isn't a serious muscle injury, because we are a lot worse team without him.

Thought Gaskell looked ok when he had the ball, but the strikers had very little service all afternoon.

Poor result today.

Two tricky away games up next too. Important that we get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
