Letter from DFC to Worthing United FC
Re: Letter from DFC to Worthing United FC
Puts everything into perspective really. As fans your mood can change whether the team win, lose or draw. But one thing which is taken as given, is that you return home afterwards and try again next game. Tragically in this case two lads left to play football and didn't make it back. Nice touch by the club with the letter and they're right in saying that the thoughts of all the football community are with the family and friends of the two lads after this tragic accident.

Well worded and not overdone. Whoever composed the letter got it spot on. A tragedy we can only imagine the effects of.

Nice words, DFC.
Being familiar with the area, it's affected me more than it would otherwise have done. Still feel a bit numb about it.

I live within 20 minutes of Shoreham, the young lads were travelling to play at Loxwood which is a village 5 miles away from me, I happened to be up in Darlington at the weekend visiting family, it was hard to take in the pictures on TV. Now back in Sussex the feeling is one of shock and sorrow for every one affected. Lovely words from Dave Mills on behalf of our club, heartfelt thoughts to all the victims and their families.

Class gesture...
There is one good thing about football, we, as fans can pull together in times of tragedy and this is football at it's best...
Terrible what happened, horrible way to die, as corny as it may sound, makes me feel proud to be a fan
R.I.P to all those involved

To be honest, I'd rather go that way, i.e. without knowing anything about it, than a lot of other ways.
Terrible for the loved ones left behind, though.

It's not football it's people in general it just stands out more as fans of a club. I've no doubt just as many great gestures are being done by local people.fozzovmurton wrote:Class gesture...

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Good to see that the club, have sent such a letter to Worthing. It's good to see that football comes together, when faced with a tragedy like this.
