Another striker needed

Post by poppyfield » Sun Aug 23, 2015 7:38 am

We need to get another striker on board, Armstrong is getting back to his old self but if he gets injured we will struggle big time, even when he gets subbed we lose so much from the forward line, and Purewal is months away from been fit it also looks like Nowakowski is going to out for a while.
There has got to be player out there we could bring in, I have one player in mind James Walshaw out favour at Harrogate Town, should be ok at this level, I know his past history with the club upset a few but when needs must, I don't think an academy player is the answer we need someone with experience.
Help get the club back to Darlo by helping to spread the word about the "Back to Darlo!" fund. The image on the right will be constantly updated with the latest total so please feel free to use the image link below the thermometer on your own signatures, blogs, websites, etc.Image

Transfered in the summer. Now playing at Bradford PA unfortunately.

We need someone in on loan. Because the likelihood is when Armstong and nowakowski and Purwal are fit we will have enough of that type of player to cover the front line. Think our best shot is a loan of an academy prospect who maybe the club want to see if they can compete against grown men as young physical strikers have. Don't know if anyone has any knowledge of the Sunderland, boro or pools academies and knows if there is a similar kind of striker in their ranks.

Or play Thommo upfront? Depends on how long anyone is out for really?

Anyone know what happened to the blonde trialist we had at Durham & a couple of other games? Be interested to see where he went.

I wonder if Gray wants to keep options open if Kneeshaw becomes available. Does anyone who knows Wilson know when it is decision time at Charlton?

I've felt that ever since Hatch left we are a striker short. White having to come on upfront shows that. I do feel we should pretty much write Purewal off until next calendar year. Even if he comes back reasonably soon (which doesn't sound likely), he's been out for such a long time that it will take him ages to get back to 100% again. Hopefully there is enough in the budget for us to get someone decent in.

Pennal has be loaned out again. Red Star last season, but now with Norton.

If younger strikers, like Pennal, aren't being considered, then a stronger player (of White/Nowakowski proportions) may be getting sought.

With Cartman, Thompson and Mitchell as regulars there's a need for a second Armstrong in case he suffers another injury, or just gets worn out.

Dowson is a different type of player to Armstrong and doesn't have such an aerial / in box presence. Cartman seems to need a big strike partner near him, but Dowson tends to play best from deep.

Not the best point in a season to find an available experienced / strong / fit striker for a short loan.
