We are 10/1

Win only with Betvictor. I think I will wait a bit to see if there are any odds on first 3 or promotion. Workington favourites at 6/1.

You can back each way at a quarter of the odds for the first 3 places.

I'd be amazed if you could get 10/1 on us. Interesting that Workington are favourites.

They aren't, Salford are at 3/1. It's a fluid market!

Must have been some serious money thrown on Salford this morning to knock the price in like that. 10/1 on us is huge. Hopefully with people seemingly throwing large bets on Salford our price will drift out even further, We are definitely worth a punt if you have some spare cash knocking about. Can only think it will be between us and Salford again.

... not surprisingly, when you look at the "popular bets" pie chart at the bottom Salford don't feature yet ... it illustrates that only one or two big bets have been placed this morning as opposed to numerous small bets at Blyth, for example, who have the biggest share just now .... I wonder who could have put those single big bets on? .... ;)

Great timing - I needed those odds for my "Come on Darlo" Prediction League prediction spreadsheet.

Those big bets would have to be pretty huge to make a difference to the bank accounts of the people I think you're implying might have made them - I doubt the bookies would take them.

... was "wondering" rather than "implying" .... Officials and players of any football club appearing on betting lists are prohibited from betting anyway .... There were certainly one or two big bets placed by just a few individuals, that's for sure .... and why not? ... They were 10/1 for a few hours ..... Thank goodness Darlo still are/were 10/1 when I put my bet on .... I can't see my stake making our odds plummet however. Although I'm pretty optimistic that mine will bring fruition ..........

Good price for us. Might stick a bit of money on. Don't really know much about this level though, so not sure whether the rest of the odds are reasonable! (Salford at 10/1 was certainly a very good price for those who got it at that!)

Neville & Co will have to fork out money on the team to ensure their (MUFC?) pals win the bets. The big bets will have gone on at 10/1. Darlo may be worth an each way bet anyway, if they play anything like the last two games.

At the level we are at, it doesn't take much to contract the odds as it's not a market that will see a lot of action - doubt they are seriously large bets on Salford. Couple of £50 bets would probably have the same effect.

I'm amazed so many people are experts on the Evo Stik Prem. We've seen Salford and Blyth play, along with the old Ramsbottom and Curzon. A lot of the teams have changed a lot of players like us.

I think to say we are a massive price without knowing enough about the quality of the league is a bit presumptuous

We played Blyth and pretty much matched them. We played Buxton and got beaten on penalties and really should have won.

Curzon competed really well without really strengthening after their promotion from D1N, and to a lesser extend so did Ramsbottom until they were ram raided by Salford.

We've made some very astute signings to a squad that was second best in the previous division

Those facts fill me with confidence

Speaking to my bookmaker at Beverley today; he noted the shift on Salford and believes it could be a combination of two or three minor bets, potential unannounced signing(s) and their result v Benfica B at the weekend. The game itself may have been a catalyst for the bets. Salford's first XI were 1-0 up at HT thanks to a goal from our nemesis Mr Phil Dean. After a number of changes a second half team of fringe, youth and trialists were defeated with the FT a 1-3 victory for the Portuguese that had beat Oxford United 4-0 earlier in the week. The Portuguese side was mainly U21 players but had three internationals that are 'waiting to be re-homed'.

10-1 is a generous offer on us. I've already got mine on at 12's earlier in the month prior to pre-season whetting the appetite for a flutter from the masses. As ever I am confident. 2016 we will go one better than 15.

Buxton are a mid table side and Blyth a top half side. If narrow defeats to them plus some strengthening are the indicators then 10/1 seems pretty accurate.

I have no doubt we will see off some of the lesser sides but Workington, Blyth and Skem will really give us a good go.

Salford to win it
Workington, Blyth, Skelmersdale and Darlington for the playoffs.

I think Workington will win it.

Leaving Darlington, Blyth, Ashton and Salford in the play-offs.

I think that Blyth will have to either re-sign Maguire or bring in a couple other really good signings to break into the play-offs, in my opinion.

They lost Jeffries to Consett, Buddle to Carlisle, Rivers to Blackpool and Maguire to Halifax. All top, top players at this level (as seen by 3 of them moving higher up). Lewis Horner has moved to Inverness C.T this summer also.

There are also rumours of Turnbull (there's, not ours) being unavailable during the season due to his work.

Why are some people keen on Workington, have they got a rich benefactor or something?

They were pipped to the title last season by FC United in the last 2 games I think; a very strong team at this level.

Yes have to agree with this. Blyth might not be as strong this season.

Ilkeston have lost a couple of their best to Nuneaton as well. I think they are a team that brings young ones through and sells them on for profit
