Bradley Staunch - released by Carlisle in 2013. Not sure where he's been since, definitely not York. He was playing Wearside League with Hartlepool FC and ended up with Seaham Red Star at the end of last season

I was impressed with Gibbons. Linked up well with the first team players and could easily see him playing at our level however with Turnbull Portas Scott and Nowalski already there might not be needed

Alex Kitchen - former Newcastle and St Johnstone centre half played the second half today and looked OK.

Anyone know who the name of the Durham lad who missed that chance after our dodgy pass at the back at the start of the second half? Number 7 it was.

Also who missed the penalty for them?

I'm sure he'll have learnt a lesson from that. The lad should be thankful of another (probably final) chance to show what he can do with a football. I should think MG would be one of the best influences on him he could have, and needs... if he's good enough.

Adam Morley has just been released by York and is a Darlo lad, his Dad Craig used to run the newsagent that was in the Dolphin Centre years ago.

It wasn't the triallsts at fault for their goal. Awful defending.

No great lino'ing either by the looks of the highlights, looks at least a yard or two off side.

Looks to me like White was comfortably playing him onside. Saying that, it could just be the perspective

No idea how to add images on this place. I paused it at the point the pass was played and he is a good half a yard onside, played on by White.

Burgess and Turnbull I believe. Burgess looks like an absolute brute of a defender.

I imagine all senior players will want to be available on Thursday for the Sunderland friendly, we might get our first indications there of the team and formation we'll have at the start of the season.

Whoever was partnering White was probably right to close the pass down, it was whoever was at LB who kind of stood pointing at him!

The poor defending seemed to start from midfield with Tom P strangely caught out of position for him. I thought the lino's decision was ok, personally.

Ignoring the rusty pre-season errors, I'm really looking of forward to seeing how the Turnbull-Portas combo works. Class players but they seem to play a similar holding game. We would need a decent attacking midfielder to complement these 2 or perhaps Thompson will play some role in the centre.

I hadn't picked up that Turnbull was a holding midfielder. I had him down more as box-to-box but beyond seeing him hit that screamer from Spyman's video link I am not sure where I picked that up.

I was thinking similar in regards to Portas and Turnbull being in a similar mold (the ball playing midfielder). Although last season we played the majority of the last few months with Portas and Scott as a CM partnership and that quite a holding pair too, so perhaps its a feature that Gray prefers and maybe let the wide players like Thompson and Mitchell have more freedom to come inside and let the width be provided by the FB's like Brown, Watson and Galbraith.

On thing that i do think looking at this season is we have the players giving us the ability to change the shape of the team really well. We can easily accommodate 4-4-2, 4-4-2(Diamond), 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1. Should we need to change a game we have definitely improved our options.

I would imagine that Cartman would be excused on Thursday, if he is on his honeymoon. I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of Mrs. Cartman!
