Who? I seemed to forget them when we steamrolled the league.

Turnbull would be an unbelievable signing IF we get him.
Having a quick read of the Gateshead forums, they are generally really upset to lose him, and are talking of the need for "big signings" to replace him. From what I can glean, it would appear that he is a quality player even at Conference Premier level.
But we need to hold our horses, he may well end up at Blyth which would be easier for him no doubt. Spenny may be able to offer more "ambition", I mean money...
Let's just keep our fingers crossed that we're in for him and it doesn't get scuppered.

Yeah logical money would be on him linking up with his brother at Blyth which is just up the road from South Shields where he lives.
Will be a big signing for whoever gets him as he has undoubted quality and was being touted to even move into league football a season or two ago.

Be a real bonus is we got him but what to do with the squad then?
A midfield selection from:
Turnbull
Youhill
Nowakowski
Mitchell
Portas
Thompson
Galbraith
Scott
A ridiculous line up and of course cry's of exceeding playing budgets etc

Move someone on.
If we get the chance to improve the squad, we should do it at the expense of a player who is not up to scratch.

Turnbull would be a phenomenal signing for us, and if the opportunity is there to sign him we have to go for it. If that means another player has to move in then so be it. However, I'm fully expecting him to sign for blyth

Same.
And if they get him they'll be a real force next year because they already have Stephen Turnbull, Robbie Dale, and players like that.

Well they seemed to have the scoop on him leaving the pro game to become a teacher a good few weeks before it happened so they obviously have some insider knowledge...

Looks like Martin and the board have let the fans down again by failing to sign Petr Cech when he became available…

To be honest I'm glad we didn't make a move. He is on a downward slope now with his best days behind him. We don't want someone like that keeping Jameson on the bench as he has the potential to go up through the leagues with us.

Were all of the BM grants mentioned on social media, without club comment, for real and actually applied for?
Sunderland reserves are rumoured be playing at Heritage Park next season, so is Darlo's plan B for home games Durham or Spennymoor?
If BM is ready for this coming season at least we'll have a good squad for the town's supporters to fill it.
Reynolds had it so wrong at the Urina

We already have an arrangement for HP if the move back isn't in time for the start of the season

Another excellent signing in Turnbull. Martin Gray is having an outstanding off season in terms of players retained and new ones signed up. If we can stay clear of injuries, the squad look capable of delivering another exciting season for us.
A timely piece of good news against the background of lack of BM news.

Amazing how the Chronicle does a big article on the departure of Turnbull but forgets to mention where he has gone too.

Looks like the Directors of DFC have been seeking some assurances following "The operational and management restructure" of DRFC,well done to them.
Must be a nightmare for those involved time wise but it has to be right, only get one go at getting these types of things right.

Yep. The club shouldn't be spending a penny until everything is 100% solid as a rock between all parties.

A very clear and much needed update. All sounds sensible - I'm slightly concerned that there is an allusion towards the rugby club possibly not being happy with what we want from the deal, but I'm speculating.

Yeah decent update, nothing surprising, but that's probably a good thing given the silence we've had on the matter recently! I wasn't expecting us to be back for the start of the season anyway, so nothing has really changed as far as I'm concerned. Slightly frustrating that we don't have a definitive date, but that's the nature of the beast I guess.
All we need now is an update on the sponsorships for the shirts so we can get those on sale!

Dont think you are wrong reading between the lines of the statement from DFC,sounds directed at someone to me......."The Board cannot, and will not, agree to any terms that do not reflect this fundamental ethos, or that do not protect the longer-term interests of the Club (both commercially and in terms of potential expansion) for the fans and the wider community."

Inside knowledge tells me that the rugby club want to provide all catering at Blackwell meadows and they have bought a porter cabin to provide an outside bar. They seem to be hugely underestimating the number of fans we will be getting. They won't allow for burger vans down Blackwell meadows and they keep suggesting we will have around 1000 fans per match. Obviously the football club won't agree to this as we will miss out massively on takings if we go into an agreement on this basis.
I'm sure there are a lot more issues but the issues above are what I've heard from people at the rugby club
