It obviously can't be helped, but I'm hoping we'll be there for when the real thing starts in August.

Not sure where were going to fit the York fixture in, i'm thinking Tuesday 14th July (Seaham will probably be reserves anyway) however would of preferred it not be just after the other home game, or Wednesday 29th July however we usually take decent crowds to Northallerton it would be disappointing if it was only a reserve team. Only other alternative i can think of is before the 4th July but that's already 2 weeks earlier than usual.

I was told about us playing York and Sunderland by the chief groundsman, thought what he said would be reliable, he was obviously telling porky pies.

To confirm, the friendly currently listed as being against Redcar Albion on July 25, is actually against Redcar Athletic. That's been confirmed by Redcar.

The South Shields game on the 11th July is at their Filtrona Park ground which has just been bought by their new millionaire backer. The Darlo game is their 1st pre-season freindly and ground re-opening.

Particularly as we've got York three days later. I don't think Gray is mad enough to make the first team play three games in five days.

Fairly easy to get to. Either take the A194 (M) turning just past Washington Services on the A1(M) )towards South Shields ( basically, get in the right hand lane ) and follow the road straight on at the roundabouts or if coming down the A19 drop onto the A194 turning right then keep going till you see a Tesco on your left. Turn left using the filter lane and follow the road straight on. The ground is at the end of the road on the right. There's also a Barbour retail outlet about half way along that road if you want a posh jacket ( under the railway bridge )
