Good thread, although it won't stop the endless "when does the season start?" or "when is the FA Cup draw?" threads from the Type Before You Think brigade.
Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by "manage expectations"?super_les_mcjannet wrote: League Fixtures

I presume he meant incase things slip past that date, tweeted twice about the date and give Thu & Fri on the different tweets. Probably just being cautious but it has been the Thursday the last 2 years.

I believe we are playing Sunderland and York at Bishop in early July.
Re: Summer 2015 - Friendlies/Cup Draws/Signings/League place
You could add a 'progress on the new ground' section.
When does the building work get going, anyway?

I believe we are due to play Sunderland on the 8th July and York on the 11th July, but I might have them the wrong way round. Both games at Heritage Park. Bit gutted that I'll miss the York game, as I'll be visiting Darlo_Swede.

Wouldn't be surprised if we sorted out a game with the RA

It would be nice to play somebody different in pre-season friendlies. It gets a bit boring when we keep playing the same team year in and year out. Now we're in the same league as Whitby, I'd be surprised if we play them in a pre-season friendly.

Frankly I don't give a stuff about friendlies or who we play.Darlo_Pete wrote:It would be nice to play somebody different in pre-season friendlies. They're merely an exercise in building up fitness and the results have no relevance on the season at all.
Sad thing is when we lose a couple of friendlies, we get the usual moronic flappers convincing themselves we'll get relegated.
Horrid time of the season really.

Agreed, make a bit of cash, get the players working as a unit & some match fitness, I'm not a lover of them as to much can be read into themDarlogramps wrote:Frankly I don't give a stuff about friendlies or who we play.Darlo_Pete wrote:It would be nice to play somebody different in pre-season friendlies. Cash generator games should be targeted. With no international tournament this summer we should be looking to give the paying public their summer football fix. The right game(s) could have a significant fund injection.

Why are international tournaments relevant anyway?
Most of the major ones are over with by mid-July anyway.

Thought the 11th was one of the dates for the suspected york/sunderland home game.

I suppose it means grounds not being ready for season start, or clashes with neighbouring & bigger events / matches.Darlogramps wrote:Good thread, although it won't stop the endless "when does the season start?" or "when is the FA Cup draw?" threads from the Type Before You Think brigade.

Any news on season ticket sales so far? Did we relaunch them after the early bird or is that the lot now?
For you to insult me, I must first value your opinion.

Re: Summer 2015 - Friendlies/Cup Draws/Signings/League place
Early Bird offers are ended, but annual season tickets should still be available. It would be good to know the numbers sold so far.
Maybe money is being allocated more for debt repayments, so no info is being supplied for building up our hopes for relatively dear signings to strengthen the squad.

Re: Summer 2015 - Friendlies/Cup Draws/Signings/League place
The South Shields game on the 11th July is at their Filtrona Park ground which has just been bought by their new millionaire backer. The Darlo game is their 1st pre-season freindly and ground re-opening.

They haven't released prices yet have they. Assumed they forgot about them to be honest.Neil Johnson wrote:Early Bird offers are ended, but annual season tickets should still be available. It would be good to know the numbers sold so far.
