Why....

Post by Fatty eats roadkill » Sat May 02, 2015 12:27 pm

... Are there spare tickets knocking about?

Did people get greedy when buying tickets?

Plenty of people wanted tickets but couldn't get them and more than likely made other arrangements now.

Such a shame.

Unfortunately we could probably have sold at least double the number that was available.

Nice to see the stewards let the chads behind the fence come in with 15 mins to go

I think it's standard procedure to open the gates near the end of the game, but still given it was an all ticket game, it was good to see that they followed the usual guidelines.

Make no mistake it was Bamber Bridge who clearly didn't sell their allocation. A paltry support today.

Not sure if I count as a chad (too old, married, employed, and my hat came from M&S not TKMaxx). Nor the nice couple and the young fella who sat on the railings with me. Or the two old gadgies - one with his grandson. Or the three other lads - none of whom seemed very chaddish. The cops and PCSOs were very friendly to us and at no point did I fear that they were going to zap us with tasers and chuck us in their van.
We'd all been unlucky in the ticket lottery and would have paid to get in if we had been allowed to do so. But we enjoyed the game and were grateful to be allowed to share the atmosphere for the last five minutes - not fifteen. We were a bit shocked to hear the attendance announced, mind; letting us in didn't take the ground over capacity, did it?
Anyway, appreciated the gesture from the stewards, enjoyed the game, and the club have cashed my cheque for a season ticket at BM so I'll be on the right side of the fence next year. Cheers.

It was actually a pretty good view and meant that I didn't have to get the stepladder out of my car. Also, got to warm up in the March Hare at half-time. And the loos in Sainsburys are very clean.
Any chance of installing railings outside the ground at BM to accommodate any overflow?

Bit of an awkward moment when the attendance was announced to be honest. The only blemish of a great day.

Can I just say I have been to 80%ish of games home and away this season, was there for semi and because I and my partner both work could not get to Darlington in time to get any tickets they where all GONE!

So the next best thing to do was to stand on the fence with a nice bloke and a young lad and a bloke with a kid!

NONE WHERE CHAVS OR WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO CALL US!

we where Darlo fans who wanted to be there but could not get tickets even though it was not full!

It was even worse when Ainsley walked passed us after been in the ground!

And thanks to be club for letting us in with five minutes to go, they have repaid the hurt a little for us not getting any tickets

Thanks

from a true DARLO FAN :P

SORRY TO GO ON THIS IS A COPY OF A E-MAIL I HAVE SENT TO THE CLUB

Its rant time

I am tired and pissed off, I had a late night at the football last night and only had about

4 hours sleep before I had to go to work! I work all day 6-6 partner works 6-1.

So can you image my despair at 1.30 when my partner text to say no tickets left after she

Travelled from Yarm to Darlington.

I have over the last three years been to over 75 -80% off the games home and away put

Money into my club when I bought 2 shares £200.

I know we did not have a lot of time but we knew we were going to be in the top 4 well before

The last games of the season, I think things could have been done a lot better! And I know

There are loads of people in the same boat as me!

Going forward we as a club need to look after our loyal fans who turn up when its winter -4

Snowing, Raining etc.… Yes it’s great to get the big crowds but they soon go after the big games!

I can’t buy a season ticket as I now work 1 in 1 off on Saturdays, Previously I have had season tickets

NOW LETS FOCUS ON THE WIN

UP THE DARLO

Errrr where was anyone called a young chap? A Chad is not a young chap!

Do you not remember back in the day when chads were drawn everywhere? A face peering over a wall!

Kilroy has no humour!

No I didn't get a ticket, I had other things to do to with my daughter.

My point is, I got 5 hours sleep on Wednesday night, got up at 8am on Thursday to get tickets for my friends who were at work that morning.

If you really wanted tickets, then you could of got them.

I don't know what your point is here Andy.
I can fully understand darlomadbutlers point in this...I think he is understandably annoyed about not getting a ticket and is quite dignified in his rant.
However i think he is misinterpreting the term of chad.
I do hope lessons are learned from the ticket issue. and that next season it will be easier for the more loyal fans to obtain tickets ahead of the cretins who try to profit on them...Hope one particuler CRETIN reads this and hangs his head in shame...

No andy, some were not able to get tickets, you were able others were not,it was obvious to all that it could sellout from our end two or more times, unfortunately Bamber bridge could not sell their allocation resulting in not being a sellout.for a club like ourselves the likes of martin jasper, david mills, and all the vollenteers to get organised in such a very short window was fantastic achievement. WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED IN A GREAT DAY FOR D.F.C onwards and upwards.

Its annoying to see fans who go week in week out unable to get tickets but people who turn up once in a blue moon get them quite easily, as well as the Scarborough glass chucker too. Hopefully a system can be put in place to stop this from happening in future but we also have to bear in mind that mistakes can happen when things are done entirely by volunteers so we need to cut them some slack too instead of having a go at them.
