Re: £225000 reached
Absolutely superb. I had some doubts that we'd get anywhere near it, but I'm glad I've been proven hopelessly wrong! Getting to 300k would be amazing

Quite staggering to be honest, shows the club found the right method to get what was required.
The 300k is a must now.
The right thing to do to extend until 4th April now, gives anyone who needed payday to take part.

Agreed. We're going to have to develop it anyway if we're going to get promotion through the leagues, so getting the funding now, while we've got the momentum from this fundraising drive, is essential.super_les_mcjannet wrote:Quite staggering to be honest, shows the club found the right method to get what was required.

£225k in a fortnight is an astonishing achievement - but we can't let up now.

Agree with this Les..One of the things that worried me was the fact that the close date was before end of month pay.super_les_mcjannet wrote:Quite staggering to be honest, shows the club found the right method to get what was required.

Extending the date into next month mow gives a lot of people the chance to have the money to hand.
Given the take up so far, I am quite confident we will now see the £300k achieved
Re: £225000 reached
really impressed. I thought it looked a tall order.
I have concerns regarding the future income, but hopefully they will prove frivolous

Cetainly a concern but a number of ways it will be counteracted.D_F_C wrote:really impressed. I thought it looked a tall order.

Presume no debt payments once the final 40k is cleared.
If we sell 350, 5 year ST's and then increase attendances on average by 350 then no loss at all.
More corporate/sponsorship.
More matchday income generally as in Darlington.
Probably so many other ways to increase revenue with being back in Darlington.
Nothing a good cup run wouldn't also improve, especially if we get some hone games.

Fantastic news, lets keep it going though
Re: £225000 reached
Not to concerned we have sold 250. If we get an extra 250 fans through the gates on our return home then we have made up for it.
I suspect that 15-20 of the tickets may have gone to exiles as well.

Echo what's already been said. Anybody who hasn't decided yet hopefully will be persuaded to get their 5 year ST. £300k is very achievable.

Fantastic response to a very well put together offer off the back of an excellent forum.
As well as all those who have bought into the 500 club, etc must also say a massive well done & thank you to Martin Jesper, Dave Mills and all the volunteers who've made this scheme a big success so far.
Lets hope that the 300k target is hit, planning permission follows, along with promotion!

Re: £225000 reached
Absolutely fantastic news. As others have said Thank you to Martin Jesper, Dave Mills and to anyone who has bought into this or invested their hard earned money.
When I first saw the amounts for what we'd need to move back to town i thought we'd do well to raise the lower amount. But Darlo fans have once again absolutely smashed the target in 2 weeks. Good decision from the board to now extend the deal to allow more people to have a pay day and hopefully sell a few more before the deal is done.
Does anyone know if the 225K raised so far includes the money from the Back to Darlo fund? if not there's another 10K closer. It really has been a great effort and hopefully if local businesses can see how much people want the club back in the town then they will get on board too.
Things like this create such a positive atmosphere around the club. Hopefully the players can see how much this club means to the fans and the progress off the pitch to get the club back in Darlo, they can take that positive attitude onto the pitch. Big wave of positivity to take us to promotion.

Re: £225000 reached
Phenomenal effort!
I never doubted we'd reach the target but to do it in 14 days is absolutely astonishing, I said at the time we left the arena that I didn't want to see us end up in a situation like Scarborough who are now in heading into their 8th year in Bridlington.
To get this far in 3 years is an achievement in itself, we really couldn't afford to stay in Bishop much longer as I think our attendances would have continued to dwindle regardless of our success or lack of on the pitch. I was fully expecting to be spending next season at Heritage Park but now I am a lot more optimistic we could achieve the target of at least being at BM for the start of the season.
Hopefully we will have a long and successful partnership with the DRFC and it will benefit both parties in the long run and also that certain people, especially at previous fans forums, will respect the fact that it is their ground and they have helped make it possible for us to to return to town.

For most of us, this will be the 4th stadium that we will watch Darlo in.
I wonder how many other clubs can match this?
Martin Gray has a connection to them all. Played at Feethams/assistant manager at The Arena/Manager at H.Park/and most probably manager at Blackwell.

Re: £225000 reached
Brilliant effort from everybody involved, when i saw the figures quoted i had my doubts but to smash the first target in only 2 weeks is unreal. Huge credit to Martin Jesper, Dave Mills and the rest of the board, a very well thought out approach to try raise the money and its worked out brilliant.
We now know that we'll be in a ground of atleast 1950 back in Darlington, hopefully we can hit the £300,000 andf get a 3000 capacity grade B ground

Re: £225000 reached
I'd say that it's imperative that we now go on and get the 3,000 ground from the start, because for the first few matches 1,950 simply won't be enough and we'll lose out on valuable income.
In fact 3,000 won't be enough for the first match, that'll be a guaranteed sell out, and plenty of people will be locked out disappointed - and you can hang your hat on that statement.
What a shame it would be if the return was restricted to 1,950 for a town of this size and history?

Re: £225000 reached
Yes you make some good points. Hopefully the car park can be profitable too. We'll certainly use it and buy a season ticket for it. Our group couldn't afford one of the 500 club but hoping to upgrade to a seat from standing so hopefully there's a few more quid.super_les_mcjannet wrote:Cetainly a concern but a number of ways it will be counteracted.D_F_C wrote:really impressed. I would love to know what deal we have in place i.e. do we get a small percentage of beer sales, do we keep all of our income? Are we having to pay the rugby club a general fee.
Perhaps it isn't the time to be asking these questions after such good news
Re: £225000 reached
I echo all the other compliments on here to all the hard work behind the scenes, and what a great achievement so far for DFC. As a long distance exile the season ticket packages are not really viable to me. I want to help, but it seems all I am left with is the Equity investment ordinary share scheme, but that is a minimum of £1,000 which I cannot afford, I was able to afford a few hundred in the CIC previously and could invest a similar amount again. I haven't missed anything else have I? Thanks anyone.

Nope, I guess planning permission is the next step. I think late March/early April was the shout from that.divas wrote:Does anyone know whether this means it's a definite that we'll be back in time for next season?

Fantastic news for everyone involved. Well done to MJ and DM, plus others, for rolling out such an effective initative.
Hopefully we get straight on to the FSIF now, as grants of that size can take up to 12 weeks to process.

Yes, I think planning approval is next. Although I don't know if submitting remodeled plans just last week will have delayed things slightly, as objection letters have been re-sent to neighbours around the Blackwell Meadows area. Deadline for reply is the beginning of April. Although, actually, the date I think we are looking at for approval is by the end of April so maybe not.super_les_mcjannet wrote:Nope, I guess planning permission is the next step. Clear to see where the potential is to expand to 3,000 on the current plans. I'm guessing, if we hit the £300k target, then further remodeled plans will have to be submitted again?
