Re: New Shirt
Something like the 84-87 strip for me but probably not possible.

To be honest as long as it's ready in advance of the season then no big issue. I will even order my lads them this year as the delivery/ordering seems to have been much better this season.

Re: New Shirt
As much as I like hoops it can get a bit boring, I was also a fan of the quartered shirt, however it's to be a celebration for our move home then it's probably right that its hoops. A replica of the Orange shirt will do for me.

Re: New Shirt
I thought the black n white quarters choice last time was smart as
Summat like that again or the 97 thin 4 hooped top would be good
A return to the traditional yellow away kit as well please

Re: New Shirt
Do we know the kit sponsor for next year?
Just think certain styles suit certain logos etc.

Re: New Shirt
What a total monstrosity that final kit is (was). Quite apt when you consider the sponsor.super_les_mcjannet wrote:Something like the 84-87 strip for me but probably not possible.

Re: New Shirt
Haha - maybe.
Just hate the afterthought stick on logo look. As the first Cosyseal year it looked terrible

Well the options are in...
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=4 ... iAzjg24%3d
Got to say option one looks pretty decent - only one of them in the traditional mould. Option two looks good at first glance, but I reckon after a month of it I'd be thinking it was rubbish.

Re: New Shirt
I'm not a massive fan of any of them personally but as I don't like shirts with buttons on then it has to be the v neck option 2 for me!

Re: New Shirt
I've voted for option 3, as it looks the best of the lot.
Re: New Shirt
not struck on any to be honest.
1 - the best of a bad bunch
2 - reminiscent of what weve worn when the kit was done last minute and reminds me of a bad era
3 - I know we're playing at a rugby club, but we aren't actually a rugby club
There must be a wildcard?!

Re: New Shirt
Neither of them are particularly brilliant. I'd go for option 1.
Re: New Shirt
I really like 1. A bit different, and looks smart. Saying that, I reckon 3 will win.

Yep, number 1. Something a bit different.
Re: New Shirt
Anything but 2 - just looks like the strip we had when we were stripped of everything! 1 reminds me of a Dortmund kit somehow if it were yellow rather than white, but I also thought it looked a bit too plain so went for 3.
To move away from a hoop design is going to take something like the quarters which I voted for last season. If we stay away from stripes, a single hoop or just the bizareness of out 98/99 shirt then I am happy!
Do you reckon Adidas would be that bothered if we went for an 3 hoop design like 66-72. I mean their trademark is the "3 stripes" not 3 hoops. Can they even have a blanket trademark on the appearance of lines in 3s!

Re: New Shirt
Would love a shirt with just three hoops across the middle like our mid 60's kit. Got a Toffs one when they were on sale and its brilliant.

Re: New Shirt
I have a memory from the 1997-1998 shirt that it originally was designed with 3 hoops and Addidas had it changed to 4, maybe i'm making that up or was just a gullible kid at the time.lo36789 wrote:Anything but 2 - just looks like the strip we had when we were stripped of everything! 1 reminds me of a Dortmund kit somehow if it were yellow rather than white, but I also thought it looked a bit too plain so went for 3.

Re: New Shirt
Maybe it's an age thing, but of the three options, it has to be no.3. Though I would have preferred broader hoops.

Seeing as though you seem to know, what is Adidas' trademark?Neil Johnson wrote:No. 1 for me. looks smart. (cant have 3 hoops as Adidas trade mark then and now)

Re: New Shirt
I'm voting for kit three, but it's the best of a bad bunch. Saying that though, I didn't like from the images. For me, it has to be hoops. I know we've not always played in them, but they are clearly identifiable as Darlington. And for that we should play in them each and every year. There is enough to play about with to keep them interesting and different each season. The moment we don't play in hoops everyone starts to moan about it, and in recent times, more basic white shirts have been associated with nothing less than horrific traumas.
If Celtic or QPR decided they were going to ditch their hoops, there would be hell on.
