There may be no snow is Salford / Prestwich but right now it is coming down fast and laying a few miles away here at the south Manchester Stockport border. This weather does not have to move far to cause problems.

None of this matters until quakerste looks over a fence. Where is he when you need him? (hopefully looking over a fence).

Lolol trust darlo pete to come out with something like that. I would have thought Manc airport to salfords ground isn't too dissimilar to the distance from Durham tees valley to heritage park!

Re earlier comment regards actual location of Salford FC perhaps the FA should make them change their name to Prestwich 1883 FC or something similar! Joejaques thanks for Sat Nav code see you there hopefully!

The pitch has a light covering of snow on it currently. Hopefully that will melt. I'm told the drainage is good

So no there are no covers on the pitch I guess. The game being on will probably depend on how bad the frost is tonight. I wonder if it is in Salford's interest for this game to be called off, as they won't be bothered about missing out on a potential massive crowd and the revenue that will bring them?

Not helpful that neither club has anything on their websites about any planned pitch inspections?

I'd imagine no pitch inspections will be planned until they look at the pitch early tomorrow morning.

What isn't helpful is people banging on about fuck all! Sit tight. An announcement will be made when there is something to announce. Not just to remind the worriers they are actually there!

TDS what "isn't helpful" is that we don't seem to have learnt anything following the recent late postponements. If the game is in any doubt would it not be best to alert fans so we can check for more info before we set off?

And ranting anonymously on a messageboard is really going to do some good, isn't it?

We'll wait for Salford or the club to let us know in due course. As TDS sensibly says, we'll be told when there is information to update us with.

Why do you want to find out right now? It wouldn't make any difference anyway - we all know there are question marks over the game because of the weather.

That said, you now qualify for free membership into the Only Happy When You're Moaning Club.

Maybe all them millionaires involved with Salford should invest a few quid in covers for the pitch along with the cash they've spent on signing the entire Ramsbottom first team and every other player that becomes available in the North-west.
