Does anyone have the league table at exactly 1 year ago, for comparisons with this year?

Here is the current table.

No. Any comparison is pretty futile though. There is no Curzon Ashton this year. They were either behind us with games in hand or ahead of us with games in hand.

Either way they romped it and nobody is doing that this year!

If it isn't available through the Evostick website then I very much doubt it. Ginge01 does live table updates with scores, have a look through his post history a year ago and you might find something.

I look forward to the comparison.

For me, it would be infinitely more interesting to show the table when beaten by Salford at home compared to now. The complete turnaround in fortunes is incredible.

Whilst I don't think it will happen but in theory we have the position at the moment to be the Curzon from last year.

A lot more in it than that but we certainly have the position especially when you compare last years league table. We have drawn one and lost one more than Curzon had around this time, Curzon however went on a 5/6 game wininng run at this point which is what we need to emulate.

We could and should take 9 points from the next 3 games, setting us up nicely for Sal£ord
For you to insult me, I must first value your opinion.

After our draw with Radcliffe away (just after the Salford game) we were 10 points behind Salford after playing the same amount of games.

We are now obviously level on points but with 3 games in hand, if we win those we are 9 points above, so a possible 19 point swing since Tue 23rd September.

In theory but sadly it doesn't always work like that.

A bit like beating Bamber Bridge away and then drawing at home to Radcliffe Borough, now you would have expected it the other way round but that didn't happen.

I think the lads seem to have the attitude of 1 game at a time currently.

Also we only have 8 home games and 12 away games left, which is possibly a good thing as we often do better away from home where the opposition have to come on to us a bit.

.... a lot of cautious thinking going on ... which is wise ... one other comparison that could be made out of interest (to some maybe), is the change in the bookies odds ... Back in October Salford were 1/4 .... odds on and almost to the extent of stopping taking bets on em ... at the time we were 8/1 outsiders ..... Now today we are 3/4 with Salford down to 3/1 ..... see link below:

https://m.oddschecker.com/t/football/en ... hern-div-1

Some other odds I noticed on here if you care to look ..... those poolie types are a staggering 1/12 favourites (obviously) to go down .... they are the shortest odds av seen in anything to do with football betting ...

If my calculations are correct (they probably wont be lol)
If everyone won their games in hand they would be
Northwich - 9 points behind
Salford - 9 Points behind
Droylsden - 16 Points behind
Scarborough - 10 points behind
Farsley - 8 Points Behind (Played equal games)
Bamber Bridge - 9 points behind (Played equal games)
Harrogate RA - 21 Points behind
Spennymoor - 15 Points behind
I know we haven't got to win the games in hand like we do the rest but based on that I'm surprised Farsley and Bamber Bridge aren't on the bookies list of favorites.

We are in the driving seat, it isn't ours to lose but it is there for us to win. Win the games we should win this month, and get a draw at Salford and it will be a very good position to be in.

Banana skins everywhere though.

How far clear were they at this stage, or how many points did they have in hand if not top?

I agree about Bamber Bridge and Farsley. God knows why BB are 66/1 and our win against them was massive.

2) Droylsden........ 7...5.0.2....25.10...15

That form really marks us out head and shoulders above everyone. While they've all been knocking points off one another, very few teams have been taking points off us.

If we can maintain anything like this form over the next few months we should win the league by a decent margin.

My biggest concern at the moment is having too many games in hand. As we saw with Spendy a couple of years ago (not that it would've made a difference in the end given our winning margin), when games mount up, it can be more difficult to be at your best each game. We also don't have the luxury of an enormous bank-rolled squad like Spendy did.

Difference with the games in hand is that Spennymoor Town basically had to win every game in hand. At the moment, our games in hand are not must wins. Currently, any points we get in them are points which would give us a bit of breathing space. Obviously, we don't want too many more postponements relative to other title challengers, as playing twice a week if everyone else is playing once a week would probably harm our form. But at the moment I'm not too concerned.

If we can maintain our form over the next few weeks, and get something at Salford, we will be in a superb position. The league is ours for the taking, which I didn't think I'd be saying after we lost to Salford at home!

Rearranging that table slightly by points per game gives the following:

1. Darlo - 2.6
2. Northwich - 2.0
3. Spennymoor - 1.92
4. Farsley - 1.90
5. Scarborough - 1.82
6. Bamber Bridge - 1.8
7. Harrogate - 1.8
8. Salford - 1.72
9. Droylesden 1.6

We are 0.6 points better off per game over the last 3 months. To put that in perspective the next 6 teams have just 0.4 points per game seperating them.

Absolutely outstanding run of form.

Based on our form over the last 15 games we'd finish on 102 points and 96 goals scored.
