Controversial post alert.

I've looked at the Thompson penalty incident over and over - and reckon the Ref might have got it right.

The defender slides in and the ball seems to take a nudge, play moves forward a little then Thompson skips up and gets hooked down.

Ball first, Thompson second.

It looked completely different at the time, behind the goal.

There's no controversy at all, it's simply an excellent tackle from the Clitheroe defender; never a penalty I'm afraid.

That Dowson chance should have been game over.

Disagree, when I look at it thommo pokes forward with his left foot and defender takes the player. Anyway we move on.

Took a few stills which show the Clitheroe defender getting the touch - will upload later

If Thommo had touched it, it would have been a much more controlled touch than one which sent the ball flying out of play.

I watched/paused it a few times and it looked like Thommo's left poked the ball forward and their lad got the man. Looking forward to these stills. The way the players protested aswell tells a story.

Certainly doesn't look like a penalty in the video.

I'm still angry we didn't win it. They were poor, but we had an off day. But to stop playing as we did after their sending off is not acceptable. Especially as this is not the first time it's happened this season.

We move on, Saturday is going to be tough.

Got to disagree with you here...
If they were poor what will happen when we play a good team?
I thought they had a game plan and stuck to it..It worked well for them.

To say that they were poor shows a lack of respect for how they played. And a lack of intelligence on your part

I thought that both teams played well considering the conditions, and that the match was entertaining. If the game had been played on a better pitch, there would have been likelihood of us winning, but that's just how it was.

Incidentally, the placing of a plastic pitch would see this type of game gone - - - forever!

Thought they were the most organised & pressuring team we have played in a fair few games

Disagree. Player protest come rain or shine especially and it gets more lively as points ride on it. I think their defender told a story more than anything, he didn't think a penalty would be given.

Probably the only one here, but pausing/playing around the sending off I must say I've seen worse. He puts his arm out across Watson, I am not sure he actually deliberately throws and elbow into him. Surprised the referee needed assistants opinion - she was by far closer to it.

Neither a penalty or sending off from what I can see.

Well the Clithero guy in the dug out was asking if she took it in the back then also enquired if the assistants got to shower with her......... The chant of you should be doing the ironing tickled him......
