no disrespect to Osset but would love them at home, as best chance of progressing and getting sore more prize money. Plus bigger gate being at home to share. Dream tie in a couple of rounds would be gateshead away, could see 2-3000 crowd for that. What a bumper share of gate receipts that would be.

A home draw vs FC United of Manchester would be a good money spinner...

To increase our chances of getting through to the next round and grabbing an extra £3250 in prize money id ideally want someone from our league at home, New Mills or Ossett if they beat Trafford, although Spennymoor is a game we would have a good chance of winning aswell as a healthy crowd

Would be nice to avenge the Buxton defeat, although they seem to be going better in the league this season than they were last.

And no disrespect to you but Gateshead away, dream tie? Gateshead away, a share of bumper gate receipts? Pass me the puke bag, I feel sick.

if we got any other vanarama teams eg halifax away I couldnt see much interest from their own home fans, and we would only take a few hundred. So little gate receipts to share. Where as gateshead away would create a lot of interest. We would take 1500-2000 as it would be like a cup final to us. Crowd of 3000 would be about right. At this level £15000 approx from gate receipts wouldnt be bad compared to sod all at ramsbottom away or alfreton town away. Plus I want a big day out on a saturday in the toon with a nice trip over to gateshead to bring back memories of the semi.

We would be lucky if we took 5 or 6 hundred to Gateshead in the trophy given that it`s a lot farther than Bishop and at the moment we are struggling to get 900 +

Fuck me you've just completed the full house of small club fan cliches.

Dream tie
Bumper gate receipts
Cup Final.

If we were playing... Man City (again), or Wolves (again), or Sheffield United (again), or Aston Villa (again), or Birmingham City (again), or Nottingham Forest (again), or Bolton Wanderers (again), or Middlesbrough (again), or Sunderland (again), or Wolverhampton Wanderers (again) or Fulham (again), or Chelsea (again), or Swansea City (again), or Cardiff City (again), or Stoke City (again), or Wigan (ag...nah, maybe not), then yes, your comments might apply.

Any Gateshead fan reading your comments will be laughing their bollocks off. Any Hartlepool fan reading will be laughing so much that they will temporarily forget about being non league next year.

This is nothing against Gateshead, but everything to do with your view of our club.

We are DARLINGTON FC, not Celtic Nation or some similar club.

I wish to completely disassociate myself from your comments as they do not reflect my view, and I suspect the view of many others, at all.

If we get to the likes of the Conference Teams then I would prefer a game v Lincoln, Grimsby, Halifax, Chester, Bristol Rovers before Gateshead.

Even Stockport County (Conf North) before Gateshead at least these teams feel like clubs that we would have played in the league the last 20 years or so.

No doubt we will get a crap draw and to be honest I would swap being knocked out if we won all our league games in November.

If we managed to get that far, then I'd love to get North Ferriby, Lincoln, Grimsby Town or Gainsborough Trinity.

lighten up quakerz, i dont know you but you seem a bit negative. I was trying to be positive about the slim chance that we might get through a couple more rounds and have a decent day out, away from the league. As a darlo fan of 35 years I dont need to be patronised by you.

darlo reborn, remember its only 30 mins from darlo station to central station in newcastle. With a 5 minute metro ride close to the ground. Loads of darlo fans just cant be bothered to go to bishop full stop, but I'm sure they'll come out the woodwork for a big cup game up the road. I'm not going to worry about it as knowing our luck bound to get a crap draw

The only way Gateshead would be like our cup final is if it actually was a cup final. Yes I'm sure there would be a decent crowd, but it's Gateshead not Newcastle. If we were gonna get a conference club I'd rather it would be someone like Lincoln, Grimsby etc.

But anyway, this is all hypothetical. Let's hope for a nice draw at home in the next round. Bottom half Div1N team at home would be ideal. Would give us a great chance of progressing.

You're right, as a Darlo fan of 35 years, you don't need to be patronised by me.

And I, as a Darlo fan of 30 years, don't need to hear you calling Gateshead "our cup final".

If we drew Gateshead, it would be a cup final. Theirs.

Top 10 of this list. They are the money ties. If we don't get them we want someone rubbish who we can beat so we can play someone in the top 10 of this list.

I do love how some fans have to drag the length of time they've supported the club into the equation, like it bears any relevance to the point.

"I've supported the club 35 years"

SO???

When has playing the closest team to you ever been referred to as a cup final. The more commonly used phrase is 'local derby'.
