Team for Cup games at Radcliffe and Spenny?
Myself I would just play weakened teams and give fringe players a chance, priority has to be to get out of this league and the rest would do some players good.
Whats everyone elses thoughts?
Do the players prefer to play to get match fees, not sure how they are paid?

I think we will go for it in the trophy, but will put the youth team and a few seniors in to the County cup against Spennymoor and against Whitby town in the Doodson sport cup game (I think).
While we must remain focused on the league, we still have a possible money earner in the trophey.
We don't have the strength in depth that some other teams in our league have so MUST call priorities on what MG thinks is best for us.

Same i think we will play a relatively strong team at Radcliffe as it is the Trophy and some small financial rewards for victories.
Against Spenny we will go with youth team and a couple of fringe players

Any money to be made in these ne mark cups? If not bin them. Harsh but we need to focus on getting out of this league and back to Darlo
Put out a decent side for Radcliffe (Mainly as I am going!) and kids in the others

Progression in the trophy is not to be sniffed at. Few round and we can get a conference opposition. The prize money is less than FA Cup but still worth it.
The County cup, well that is another matter. Genuinley if we stuck a team of fans out I wouldn't care. That is how much the county cup means, it just costs money to stage meaningless games.
That was originally a throw away comment. The more I think about it though...would people pay to play in a 'competitive' fixture for us!? Could we get 'done' for it if we did do that? If Spenny aren't bothered about it either can we just have a fans match - it might actually get more people attending than the actual fixture!?

I am not counting the FA trophy in the ne mark list! We did, after all, win it!

FA Trophy is not to be sniffed at, beat Radcliffe on Saturday and we have a trip to Scarborough which is a potential money spinner if a big crowd turnout.

First Round Qualifying winners (72) £2,700
Second Round Qualifying winner (36) £3,250
Third Round Qualifying winners (40) £4,000

Youth and fringe? Never even knew we had any fringe players left.
For you to insult me, I must first value your opinion.

How come Scarborough don't have to play in this round? Did they get a bye?quakersam wrote:FA Trophy is not to be sniffed at, beat Radcliffe on Saturday and we have a trip to Scarborough which is a potential money spinner if a big crowd turnout.

Found this for their game versus Farsley...........The game had originally been scheduled for Tuesday 14th October but as both teams had received a bye through to the FA Trophy First Qualifying Round leaving the 18th available, it made sense to move the match to the weekend.

Radcliffe we are playing our strongest team and against Spenny Gray has said he is sending the u18s there be pretty much like the game we had last year against gateshead in this cup.
