Gateshead Crowds

Post by davidcurrieclass » Sat Sep 13, 2014 6:18 pm

never thought in my lifetime they would end up getting higher crowds than us, but good on them. Over 1300 there today against dartford and 1000 last week, and nothing to do with loads of away fans turning up. Must be the offers they have for season ticket holders of other clubs, plus the wembley factor.

They've had a few four figure crowds this season.

Almost 2,000 for the Torquay game.

Gateshead, whilst in Newcastle's shadow, still have a massive catchment area and could sustain league football if they generate enough interest.

The extra cash you get from the league pretty much allows you to sustain league football. Look at the amount of clubs that have been promoted from the conference in the last 10 years who have ended back up there...

Getting up is the tricky bit.

Been to a couple of Heed games this season, they're doing very well. Seems to be a feel good factor around the place.

Good luck to them.
