Darlington FC V Farsley FC
Well tomorrow is another day at the office for our team, after Saturdays result its its a must win, imo. I did not go on Saturday, but by all accounts we should of done better.
As mentioned on another thread, when we played Spenny we really did look like the real deal, so its a bit of a mystery of how we can go from that performance, to a second half like that against Droylsden.
If the players are fit Dowson /Purewal i would like the same team that played against Spenny to start tomorrow night, and as long as that team are winning, it should not change apart from injuries or when MG thinks the game is won to rest a player for the last 15/20. I do think that players should only be dropped if they they are not performing well, not to give players "game time"
Anyway a good result is what is required.

Coincidence that we've not played well whilst Amar has been injured. Just saying.

Re: Darlington FC V Farsley FC
Only 4 games gone but performances are up and down and silly points are being given away. Sounds familiar? Players must give 90 minutes consistency and I'm picking up that that's not happening. When it comes down to the wire I hope that three points lost on Saturday don't count against us. Already we are playing catch-up.

Re: Darlington FC V Farsley FC
Beat Salford and get the 3 points we are due from the Warrington debacle and we are right back in the mix, hope others have taken heart from Spenny holding them, i'm sure they are not another Curzon.
i'm sure we will bounce back with a stella performance tonight, think also we will see a monster performance from Thompson who i fully expect to see on the goal list when the final whistle blows.

Re: Darlington FC V Farsley FC
Big game tonight, a loss would really set us back off the pace, however a win pulls us to within 6 of top(with a game in hand), with Salford to come in the next league game.
Hopefully one of Dows/Amar is fit to play as one of the front men either in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.
Think it was not really mentioned due to the result and the trouble on Saturday, but great to see Armstrong notch up another, already up to 5 for the season!

A few changes to expect from gray tonight, Guess if he plans a couple of changes the likely ones at risk are Robinson, Reed,Thommo and Noble

MG hinting at changes today from Saturday, Wonder if we may see the Hitman start as Dowson is still injured? I think Armstrong may play well off his shoulder and getting the flick on's

Massive game tonight, I hope nobody is taking Farsley easily. They're a very good footballing team who'll be up there come the end of the season!
Hoping for a big performance tonight, haway Darlo.

Huge game tonight - another defeat and doubt could start to creep in. Win and the confidence and feel good factor will be back in place.

Re: Darlington FC V Farsley FC
Yep, huge game.
Armstrong playing off anyone's shoulder would signal a huge void of knowledge on the management team as he is nothing near that sort of player!
Prefer Thommo and at the moment that's saying something . Lets hope he gets his chance and takes it tonight!

Rubbish TDS he may be a big unit but he could easily feed off flick ons and held up balls, he has the skills required, we will see if he gets chance to pair up with Hatch or Purewal sometime soon

It is midweek. I expect midweek attendances to be around the 900 mark.Darlobaz79 wrote:only 871 in attendance

Re: Darlington FC V Farsley FC
Ah right ok. In a similar vein Liam Hatch can't seem to score at the moment. It's been 2 games right?
I think the way we sound like we are playing concerns me more than letting 2 leads slip. It doesn't sound very pretty at the moment, I don't understand why we have switched system from what we had against Warrington & Spenny.

Seconded.Marooned in Spain for a while and much appreciated.Proper pissed at tonight's result though.I really hope White came off because of an injury, otherwise what the fuck is the point of changing the back line five minutes from time.joejaques wrote:Thanks to the Shoutcast lads, but not for the result.
Re: Darlington FC V Farsley FC
White was injured on Saturday so I was surprised to see him out there tonight.
Gray definitely needs another midfielder alongside Portas who works his socks off as Scotty or Robinson do not cut it. Scotty tonight just ran around chasing the ball but got nowhere near it.
That's three games now where we have thrown away points.

Re: Darlington FC V Farsley FC
When Purewal came on, I thought our 1-0 was secure, obviously not.
Teams park the bus against us all game, and we struggle to break them down, we try it for 10 minutes and concede.
Don't really know what to say after that. Limited chances, limited goals really. Thommo looked a bit better, but still not up to scratch.
Not sure what GB's plans were most the game, except loft up and be hopeful.
We've lost our tempo that we saw against Spenny and even the Sunderland friendly, MG needs to work with them on that.
On another note, I'm not sure what's Scott's job is? I'm watching him, he's meant to put tackles in, put pressure on, as well as pass the ball, he's not doing any tackling or putting any pressure on, it's like watching a snail chase a squirrel half the time, he's just looking not needed.
We have to play better than that against Salford, if not, pray.
