So bizarre. I don't really understand how the ref and Lino got the same wrong decision. The initial flag looks like it was for a GK rather than offside.

a) can't be offside from a corner
b) there wasn't even an attacking player where he was suggesting
c) a freekick awarded to a defensive team within the 6yard box must be taken on the edge of the 6yd box!

Unbelievable!!! Correct use of the word!

The only answer is that the Lino is colourblind or very, very confused.
He thinks the keeper or the last defender is an attacking player!

Colour blind or just blind.

One team is in stripes and one not!

It is a very strange decision. What was the point of giving the offside in any event?
Or was it not an offside, but a foul the assistant referee flagged for.

Either way a very strange decision

For an offside, isn't the lino supposed to raise his flag first? Initially it looks more like he's given a goal kick. He's definitely not given a free kick as the flag would be pointed in the direction of the award.

Just a thought - did anyone actually get a touch on it, or did it go straight out of play? Not sure what the ruling would be there. It looked like someone got a touch but the defender's hands all went up and the linesman was stood waiting for the ball to go out.

When he was waving the goalie to move the ball back - did he just mean back onto the 6-yard line (but the goalie just screwed up and moved it all the way back to near the goal line)?

The ball went out for a throw though, not a goal kick.

Tbh there's no point in trying to work it out, nothing makes sense!

Apart from the fact that the lino has had a mare!

Looking at it again (and again and again!) it now looks to me like there was a push on the defender by the Blyth striker. You can see the hands go up and the defender stagger a bit all at the same time. I think the linesman just got the position of the infringement wrong.

I can see your logic, but if it is a free kick that's given, the flag doesn't go out like that. It's raised in the direction of the free kick. I.e. it should have been pointed out left. He's either given a goal kick, or an off-side. Neither of which were correct.
