All done 2-0
Great result and a perfect tonic after Saturday.
Sounds like 1 and a bit impressive performances so far. Really reckon we've strengthened quality wise over the summer in 3 or 4 positions.
Hear Armstrong gave Tait a bit of a beating tonight. Unlucky Joe. Armstrong will get a bagful and is the finisher we've missed since Johnson left.

God I hate being this far down the leagues. First the Warrington debacle and now the basic inability to report scores etc.

Re: Match thread
First half display is as good as I've seen us play in the last two years. We closed them down and didn't allow them to play. Only playing 30 mins on Saturday certainly made us fresher. Should have been at least 4 at half time with Leon and Armstrong missing sitters. I'm still convinced the Armstrong miss went in. Second half sat back a bit but still had countless chances on the break. Everyone superb tonight but Portas just beats Leon and whitey to man of the match for me. Special mention for Fisher who came on as sub and was excellent.
Ainsley was his usual idiot self, he makes gray look like a saint.

Re: Match thread
Well, we bossed that from start to finish.
Briefly, Spenny looked good in patches, but we were stronger all over, first to the ball, and just better.
We really could have scored 5 or 6 as well, Scott blasted over when easier to score, another time he burst through and should have squared for a certain goal, Armstrong and Fisher both missed one on ones. There was a couple of good saves and last ditch tackles as well.
Portas and Mitchell in midfield are a massive upgrade on last season, Scott was Scott, strong as ever. Reed looked decent when he came on as did Fisher.
Up front Dowson was full of running and Armstrong is a class act, playing 2 levels beneath his ability, he won everything. At the back White solid as a rock and I thought Brown had a great game at right back. Nobody had a poor game.
Joe Tait got dogs abuse, and Spenny sang various songs at us about not having a ground and paying our rent because they're so sustainable.
Men against boys, their "sponsors" probably won't be very happy.
All in all - job done.
