Burscough away Sat 23rd

Post by MCFC Darlo 2 » Mon Aug 18, 2014 11:02 pm

My first match for some time.

Taking my youngest and my Brother, who now lives in Wigan, may be joining us on the way for his first Darlo game.

Getting the train from Manchester to Burscough Bridge, pub across from the station and one at the ground I think.Ground 10 mins from the station looking at maps.

Didnt do this game last season so which is the best pub option? My youngest will need some food,me and our kid will need some beer!

Still debating whether to go to this as I can't make the Kendal home game.

Any have the idea on what time the Supporters Coach leaves?

The first pub you come to in the town (not the one right near the station, didn't go in there) was a decent real ale pub doing plenty of food trade too. We went in before and after the game, it was packed afterwards. Another pub further along the town just over a bridge, nowt nor summat of a place but there was a pretty homely and welcoming pub on the outskirts - can't really remember best way to get to it, but it certainly wasn't the half hour walk down a boggy towpath that we decided on. Sorry if that's all a bit vague.

All in all, not a bad little place

On their website link I read there is a pub at the ground,is it any good or would you stay in the town pre match?

Pub just next to the ground is excellent, they even done free food last season.

Seemed to be some issue with the people in the pub (Supporters Club/Trust) and the guys on the gate (Club). Even Burscough twitter is unofficial and has mentioned they may do the hotpot again.

You can actually watch the match from memory sat in the pub, I would suggest going into the ground as it's better view though!
