We can take joy in taking that prize money from them.

I'm out!!!!
Re: FA Cup
I'm not going, but at least this time the clubs have to agree a price (or alternatively the FA will set it), so there shouldn't be as much controversy as last time. There's bound to be a bit of a nasty atmosphere though, which is a shame. Hopefully we win - the prize money available in the FA Cup would be a great help for us.

From the FA Rules on prices in the Qualifying Rounds

So wonder how much it will be, I may go just for the day out, see how I am feelingQualifying Competition
Immediately after the draw is known, the two Clubs concerned must mutually agree the prices of admission subject to the following conditions.
Except where mutually agreed otherwise the minimum admission (except to children and senior citizens) to matches shall be:
In the Extra-Preliminary, Preliminary and First Round Qualifying: £3.00
In the Second and Third Rounds Qualifying: £5.00
In the Fourth Round Qualifying: £6.00
A higher admission charge may be mutually agreed between the Clubs concerned. The away Club’s spectators can only be charged more than the home Club’s spectators if agreed by both Clubs.
The price of admission for children and senior citizens must be mutually agreed between the Clubs concerned.

Re: FA Cup
So if we disagree it will be £3?
Haha I am up for the club refusing anything higher than that. We only get 50% after costs anyway after all.

Re: FA Cup
I read it as though it would be a minimum of £3 rather than it actually being £3.

Re: FA Cup
Correct, the minimum is 3 quid, if both clubs can't agree, then the FA will step in and set the priceTSQuaker wrote:I read it as though it would be a minimum of £3 rather than it actually being £3.

Re: FA Cup
Ah the FA step in. Probs best not get their attention too much then! I was going to say how else could the price be set if there isn't agreement, other than revert to minimum.
Anyway we should know soon. The price has to be agreed immediately after the draw is known. Never a quiet moment ey!

Re: FA Cup
As Ingleby wrote and then took off (no doubt due the grief he gets because he puts it in a negtive way), I can see us agreeing a reasonable price where we make some money from the game. Lets be honest if MJ can make 2k for Darlington Football Club by us being charged say £7/£8 per adult I can see him doing it.
That is not a dig at MJ, it's just a fact he will look to achieve some financial gain for DFC out of the game. Although I couldn't see him agreeing to a charge of £10 either. West normally charge about £7/£8 for FA Cup games and I can see this being the same once we have no doubt checked what costs West have so MJ can have a rough calculation of what DFC will make.

Re: FA Cup
Don't forget that West will be hosting the worst behaved fans in the world - so will need an army of stewards to control the hordes about to descend on their prim and proper club - at great additional expense - so the money left over for sharing with Darlo will be minimal.super_les_mcjannet wrote: West normally charge about £7/£8 for FA Cup games and I can see this being the same once we have no doubt checked what costs West have so MJ can have a rough calculation of what DFC will make.
Re: FA Cup
What won't be minimal is the £1925 we get for winning.
Re: FA Cup
Yes and yes. £7 or £8 would be what I'd expect. Place will go into meltdown if it's a tennersuper_les_mcjannet wrote:As Ingleby wrote and then took off (no doubt due the grief he gets because he puts it in a negtive way), I can see us agreeing a reasonable price where we make some money from the game. Re: FA Cup
Jesper will be aware of that though, I am sure he is working out an average attendance of say 1.2k with average charge per person of £5 (kids and concessions pulling price down) but adults at £7 or £8.Alfie wrote:Don't forget that West will be hosting the worst behaved fans in the world - so will need an army of stewards to control the hordes about to descend on their prim and proper club - at great additional expense - so the money left over for sharing with Darlo will be minimal.super_les_mcjannet wrote: West normally charge about £7/£8 for FA Cup games and I can see this being the same once we have no doubt checked what costs West have so MJ can have a rough calculation of what DFC will make.
This giving around 6k in gate receipts, if Policing and hosting the game costs say 2k then Darlo would still make 2k. However this is what MJ/LD will want to understand before agreeing the pricing. If we are not going to make anything then might as well have the cheapest price possible.
Only question mark would be can you find out the costs for West in hosting the game in advance or will they just tell you after agreeing the price.
Re: FA Cup
.... official website has it up as £6.00 with £3.00 concessions ... I missed the NL game but I certainly won't miss this one

Can't grumble. Nice to see we were able to arrange it sensibly between us
Hopefully a good turnout and start of a good cup run.

Ray has just tweeted that the W£st manager has quit. Maybe didn't want to be on the receiving end of a cricket score lol.
Come on Darlo!

Re: FA Cup
Match tomorrow and looking forward to this one.
What are peoples thoughts on a team? I suspect this may be a physical encounter with West being up for it so i'm tempted to leave Thommo on the bench and throw Robinson in.
My team would be
Bell
Brown Hunter White Galbraith
Mitchell Scott Robinson Portas
Armstrong Dowson
Then bring on Thommo/Fisher/Purewal/Hatch depending on how the game is looking 2nd half - i know this does not fit in with current formations but we may need to bolster the midfield until West tire.

Re: FA Cup
Think we'll be thrown out of the cup even if we win Steve is we make four subs.
I think Gray will go with his strongest team from the off. This isn't like the Premier League. For us, a run in this is big big money.
I saw Blyth at Matlock last weekend, and in all honesty, I'm more fearful of W£st than I am of the Spartans. Win this, and we could very well make a few bob.

Re: FA Cup
Disappointed i can't get to the game tomorrow.
Think we should go with the team that started at Spenny + Thommo
So
Jameson
Brown Hunter White Galbraith
Mitchell Scott Portas
Dowson Armstrong Thompson
West are in a bit of turmoil, manager left, star player Moffat has handed in a transfer request.
Don't think we should be scared of them, they will be worse than Spenny were last week

Re: FA Cup
lol I meant a choice of.
The lads could be out to prove their worth to the new manager so i'm expecting a tough game with a few harsh tackles so better not unleash the Hitman until we have a couple of goals under our belt

Re: FA Cup
Heard earlier in the week that it was all ticket but assume it's not. Can anyone confirm and also does anyone know how many tickets are left?
And if the indoor market is selling tickets in the morning ?
Cheers
