Match Updates

Post by swadquaker » Sat Aug 16, 2014 1:00 pm

Who was the guy in USA giving us updates on all the scores in the division every few minutes. I think it was much appreciated. If you are he then I hope you can do this again.

Sounds as though the game has stopped as the ref has gone if injured and there is. No replacement.

Anyone know what's happening?

If the game is abandoned. Will Thommo still be suspended for Tuesday night?

I hope they get it sorted as we are clearly in control. Although. I would be able to get to the rearranged game instead of being stuck on a train.

Gray would go nuts.

I assumed. Wrongly it seems. That all FA leagues would have a fourth official. Shows how much I pay attention to the sidelines on a match day.

Hi,

On holiday, I was on the phone, I think I arrived too late, will be back next week at home, and provide score updates

What a kick in the c***

Must be some 30 minute rule they've invoked:

Warrington Town FC @theyellows

Match abandoned following injury to referee after more than 30 minute delay

There's a precedent from 2004 where Lincoln v Workington was abandoned and the Unibond ordered the game to be replayed despite the Unibond chairman stating earlier that the game should have carried on with 2 officials:

http://www.timesandstar.co.uk/sport/red ... e-1.339096

Sadly I expect similar spinelessness will happen here and Darlo will have to replay.

Matthew Jones @mjones_rbfc 24m

Disgraceful news from Darlington v Warrington. Not the first time they've refused a replacement official

Oh, really? From other tweets I've seen they refused to play because they said it was "unsafe" to continue. Well, West Auckland, you've got competition up there at the top of the teams we hate league.

We should get the 3 points - clear as that, if the league has any balls.

The kick in the teeth is we are now weakened for Tuesday night. And we lose out financially by having to rehost the game.

Hang on a minute...

If we had another official lined up (who was it by the way?) then Warrington should not be allowed to refuse him? It's gamesmanship of the highest order and pretty much what you'd expect from monkey boy Reid.

Warrington should surely be counted as having forfeited the game and the result should stand?

Overheard someone say it was a volunteer with the club and that'd why it was refused. That said we shouldn't be reliant on an official being at the game, and the rules should state either a 4th official has to be present or the game can run with only 2 officials

Evostick website has Blyth Spartans game today as delayed by 15 mins due to injury to referee. Interesting to find out circumstances of this game as not noted as abondoned.

Err... isn't that an extra home game we MAKE money from? It's not like we had to suffer a postponement.

I think James Charlton was lined up then someone else more senior came to the forefront but they refused him, shocking stuff.

If it had been 0-0 then I could understand but we were whipping their moaning, cheating fat fucking arses all over the pitch, Warrington will not be contenders this season.

Also their keeper had hurt himself and I don't think they had a replacement on the bench.

Point of note abandoned tickets were handed out to non season ticket holders and I witnessed season ticket holders taking them... Presumably to pass to mates

If that's the case and teams agree to take the field with no 4th official in place then they should be made to abide by the rules.

I hope we raise merry hell with the league about this - it sounds like it's not the first time they've pulled this stunt, as per that Radcliffe Boro fan's tweet further up.

Realitically...

If the game can be played with two officials, and we also were able to provide a replacement official, then Warrington can have no excuse for walking off.

Also, for those worrying about the league going against FA rules and forcing us to replay because that's just our luck - I think you'll find that Warrington and their manager aren't exactly universally liked, and people won't be queuing up to do them favours.

Basically, Sean Reid is chancing his luck, even if the result stands a 2-0 defeat is better than the 8-0 drubbing that they would have received, he'll take the 2-0. And if he gets a replay, even better - he's probably not even expecting that himself.
