4-1. Hatch, Dowson, Purewal and either Portas or one of the previous three to bag a second!
Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
Well, now I've seen it all. The logic of no 4th official at this level, just fucks with my brain.
Rules state the match could of continued, Warrington walked off the pitch and refused to play.EVERYTHING points to a forfeit, so why have we not been given one?
The really sad thing about this is, the FA won't give this a look at, they will ignore their own rule, and they'll also ignore using fourth officials at this level.
I'm lost for words.
Same thing happened at blyth today, the game carried on, no problem. THIS HAS TO BE A FORFEIT!
I'm confident we'll beat them in the re-match if horribly we have to...but if i had my way, just to be as unsporting as Warrington, i'd do anything to waste time when we're winning. Bunch of bitter c****.

Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
we must get the 3 points what happens to Warrington I dont really care, Spedymoor won 2-0 away at Padiham so now its onto Tuesday COD
Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
Ray Simpson has tweeted
"Warrington could be charged with failing to fulfil a fixture. Rules say that game could have continued with two officials"
Warrington don't have a leg to stand on, neither do the FA. If we don't get rewarded the 3 points, it will just tarnish the whole set up...but if it goes either way, well, Warrington has already been tarnished now.

Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
And Thompson better be available for Tuesday night.
Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
The game will be replayed and Thommo won't be eligible for Tuesday. This is Darlo remember.
Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
No offence but a 4th man is just more expense. A fee plus travel expenses for maybe once every 3/4years when they are needed. I don't see many clubs at this level being up for that.DarloDean wrote:The logic of no 4th official at this level, just fucks with my brain...The really sad thing about this is, the FA won't give this a look at, they will ignore their own rule, and they'll also ignore using fourth officials at this level.
I wouldn't get so paranoid. I think it will all be above board it will probs go down as a 3-0 win to us. I would like to see us get Thommo freed up as well, but I am not sure how that works.
Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
Exactly, the 4th official = expense, and this may be one reason why there is a rule in place that clubs can continue a match with just two officials.
Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
If the match is forfeit then I don't think Thommo will be able to play Tuesday anyway, I don't think it will class as our players playing?

Will a decision be made before Tuesday anyway?shawry wrote:If the match is forfeit then I don't think Thommo will be able to play Tuesday anyway, I don't think it will class as our players playing?
Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
Tuesday is quite quick for a decision to be made. In the absense of a decision I wonder if we can argue that Thommo is eligible. I genuinely have no idea how a forfeited game impacts suspensions. Is there a precedent?
Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
Well basically if a match is forfeited by the opposition and the result at the point of the forfeit is allowed to stand, and the goalscorers stand etc, then officially that game has been recognised as having been played in the record books. Thompson didn't play in it because he was suspended, therefore he's served his suspension.
At least that's what the common sense, logical decision should be, anyway.

Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
Indeed. Will a decision be made on that in time for Tuesday though. Will be interesting.

Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
I heard the Martin Gray/Ray Simpson interview on the radio and Gray said exactly what Quakerz says above. He (Gray) wants a F.A. decision on Monday so that he can prepare his squad.Quakerz wrote:Well basically if a match is forfeited by the opposition and the result at the point of the forfeit is allowed to stand, and the goalscorers stand etc, then officially that game has been recognised as having been played in the record books. How come 3-0 did I miss a goal?
Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
Usual scoreline on a forfeited game as I understand it.Bogratsteve wrote:How come 3-0 did I miss a goal?

Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
Ahh I see, fair enough I had 3-0 in the prediction league lol
Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
Unfortunately in that case Thommo would still be suspended, because once you have got leagues saying "team x forfeited the match so we are awarding a 3-0 win to team y", then it becomes an award in place of the actual match result. Effectively the match was never played, and you've been given a virtual result if you like.lo36789 wrote:Usual scoreline on a forfeited game as I understand it.Bogratsteve wrote:How come 3-0 did I miss a goal?
If on the other hand the 2-0 result was allowed to stand as is, then they would be taking the actual played match as a result. Then everything from that match should count.
Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
Depends on league rules. I think it might be 60mins for a result to stand. I am going for 3-0 as it goes down as just being a forfeit.
Thompson and Robinson to be suspended for Tuesday.

I can see the worst the FA will do is deduct Warrington three points and the. Make us replay it. Thus The suspensions will still be in place for Tuesday.

Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
Points deducted and they replayed the game v Blackburn. But that was slightly different because they posponed the game beforehand. This incident occurred after the match had started.
I'm not sure how it works in the pyramid. But most from memory the Durham FA require both clubs to agree to a decision. That's beyond a referees decision. Things may have changed though.

Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
What is the rule if a club is down to less than 7 men. As far as I can see this theoretically is what happened.

When Sheffield United played West Brom in 2002, the game was abandoned when Sheffield was down to 6 men, the Baggies were awarded a 3-0 winlo36789 wrote:What is the rule if a club is down to less than 7 men. As far as I can see this theoretically is what happened.

That would be the precedent I would go for. Warrington had less than 7 men on pitch (0 to be precise). Out of interest, were any players suspended for that game?

Re: Darlington FC V Warrington Town
I've taken this from the Echo report
" After a further delay, Reid called his substitutes into the dressing room, and then announced that they were refusing to continue the game on health and safety grounds, claiming that his players could suffer an injury without another warm up if play was going to restart. "
Surely all players would have been given a few minutes to warm up? This is what always happens. The Warrington manager's actions were selfish and pathetic.

Totally agree. If we win promotion by those 3 points the other teams will be somewhat aggrieved. Its a tough one but really important the team focus on the next game.dickdarlington wrote:I can see the worst the FA will do is deduct Warrington three points and the. Make us replay it.
