Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
The Sponsor a Goal scheme is returning for this season.
Over the past two seasons it has raised £3000 for the club and been recognised by the board.
For those of you who are unaware of the scheme, the idea is very simple.
Participants agree to pledge a sum of money for each goal scored by their chosen player, for each goal scored by the team, for each clean sheet, penalties scored, points achieved or goal difference. All Evostik and FA matches will count.
At the end of the season all participants will be encouraged to pay the sums owed and the money raised will be handed over to the club.
Updates will be sent out through the season, and running totals will be posted on various websites and forums, as well as Facebook and Twitter.
Please feel free to pledge as much or as little as you feel you can afford. Pledges can be completed on the attached form and handed into the club shop or email the details to darlogoals@gmail.com

Been meaning to ask if you were doing this again. Will sort it in the next day or two, need to visit the local library to use printer & scanner.
Re: Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
You don't need to send the form, you can just email me details of the pledge
The form is more for use at the club shop

*bump*
If you are worried about the potential cost at the end of the season, you can pay monthly.
At the recent volunteers event, the scheme was acknowledged by Martin Jesper and Dave Mills as providing valuable funds for the club.

I'm doing my budget for the next year. Should I be looking to take out a loan at the end of the season. Any updates?

I'll look to getting individual updates out tomorrow, but looking at £570 so far this season.
If you want to pay monthly, I'll include the bank details
It's not too late to join the scheme. You can either go from the start of the season, or start from the match against Scarborough

Just over half way through the season, and pledges total £900. Thanks for your support.
If you want to sponsor the goals scored in the remaining matches, or pick a goal scorer, goal difference, points earned, or penalties, drop me a dm or mail darlogoals@gmail.com
Any pledge amount will be accepted, and all money collected will go to the club

Re: Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
With on introduction of Cartman to the squad we have had new people sign up to the Sponsor a Goal scheme.
It has cost the club to sign him, why not pledge a pound for each of his goals until the end of the season?
Which player will raise the most for the club? At the minute, Gary Brown is beating Amar. Does no one back Thommo or Dowson? How about Armstrong or Hatch?

Re: Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
I have now taken out a large mortgage to pay for ALL goals scored and ALL clean sheets which will be made much worse by the signing of Cartnan . . . totally worth it tho when we're promoted

Re: Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
60 league goals so far, so maybe 120 tops for the season. This depends on if Darlo can win the league early and what they will do with any subsequent games.
Maybe the kids will get some game time, or they may tell the public that goal sprees are intended, to get extra crowd revenue and increase town interest.

Re: Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
75 league goals to date and 10 games left, so looks like a 100 goals plus is on the cards, without any play-offs (we hope!). And then theres the clean sheets etc.
Should be a useful contribution for the club, which will help their short term finances in moving into Blackwell Meadows.
Such fan fundraising predictions may the difference in the club obtaining a 1,920 or 3,000 capacity rating for preseason friendlies and other lucrative games (FA Cup & FA Trophy)

Re: Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
Update after last night.
The total for the season so far now stands at over £1600.
This includes an extra £60 pledged last night on twitter, with Cartman's goal raising £45 and Thommo's bagging £15.
Pledges are accepted for the final push of the season.
How about a couple of quid for each Darlo goal scored, a fiver if Dowson puts one in the net, or a tenner if a defender scores?
Why not reward the club if Alan White doesn't get booked?
Payment can be made on a match by match basis, as a single amount at the end of the season, or handed to me at a game.
Pledges accepted through here, email to darlogoals@gmail.com, or on twitter to @beardedian

Re: Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
I suggest double pledges for those goals after the 100 (or 80) mark next season. Adds a bit more of an incentive to the players. I Wonder how many more the team will score this season and how high Armstong will finish in the top scorer positions.

Re: Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
Can we not start a thread now for next season? I know it's early, but with the feel good factor we have after being promoted we might get a few early pledges?
I'll give £1 for every league goal we score next season.

Re: Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
Maybe double payments for all goals over the 80 mark as standard?
We need the team to entertain & retain the new & returnee support with lots of goals.
We also need a lot of noise for them that only witnessed the silent & soulless stadium.

I'll leave that to the individual Neil, but I already have you down for double payment

Re: Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2014-15
Thanks Armchair. I've made a note of your pledge.
Having just transferred £2311 to the club, and thanks for all those who supported the scheme this year, I'm taking a couple of weeks off before promoting the scheme for next season.
Don't let this stop anyone from adding their pledges for 2015/16 to this thread. They will all be picked up.
If 10 new people went a pound a goal, would add over £1000 to the total (based on previous years).
But can offer as much or little as can afford. Pledges in 2014/15 ranged from 10p a goal to £5 a clean sheet.
If it can be reported on, pledges will be accepted.
