Adam Mitchell
Adam Mitchell article in the Echo, would obviously be a great signing for us if something could be worked out.

Re: Adam Mitchell
He was very impressive on Saturday. Hopefully we can get him signed up for next season as I think he's something different to what we currently have at the club.
It wouldn't surprise me if we were looking at one of Mitchell's former team-mates, Liam Marrs. Right back who was released by Sunderland in January and has just been let go from his trial at Carlisle.

Re: Adam Mitchell
very good signing.
Along with thompson the only other player we have who can really run at defenders, should have a huge impact

As I said in the other post, I'd hope that by having proper wingers on both sides we can minimise the double marking issue, too. If Thommo is getting marked out of the game, get Galbraith overlapping or start attacking down the right.

Re: Adam Mitchell
It didn't work that way last season. We started with Moore and Thompson, both pressed forward and neither was naturally defensive-minded.tdk1 wrote:As I said in the other post, I'd hope that by having proper wingers on both sides we can minimise the double marking issue, too. Our full backs got exposed and we struggled.
For me, Thommo has to play central. If he's being double-marked, then we get an extra midfielder forward to take advantage of the extra space.
That's why playing two defenders in midfield last season cost us. The likes of Brown, Tait and Robinson are more likely to sit back than get forward.
Having more natural midfielders, who are more likely to get forward, such as Mitchell, Portas and one other midfielder should alleviate this problem.
We definitely need another full back IMO though.

Re: Adam Mitchell
The problem with having Mitchell and thommo on either side is the same problem as last season with Moore and thommo both are not great tracking back. like playing 4-2-4 sometimes.
great signing though.

Re: Adam Mitchell
Mitchell tracks back more than Moore did, I think it could work but I agree with that concern.

I wonder how quickly his kit sponsorship goes? He's a popular player.
