This weeks fixtures of interest

Post by lo36789 » Mon Apr 14, 2014 12:15 pm

New Mills v Lancaster (Mon 14/04/2014)
Northwich Victory v Bamber Bridge (Wed 16/04/2014)

If Lancaster fail to win tonight then we are guaranteed to finish no lower than 4th (third place in the play-offs).

If Bamber Bridge fail to win then a win on Saturday will guarantee us a home leg in the play-off semi-final.

i take it no dates have actually been officially announced for the playoffs yet?

I know we are expecting it to be midweek in the week starting 28th with the final saturday 3rd ?

Laura stated on here that if we finish 2nd or 3rd then a home game would be played on our normal might for home matches, therefore Wed 28th with final on Sat May 3rd.

If we finish 4th or 5th then we are reliant on our oppositon and when they play home games. The below is when they play.

Warrington Tuesday Nights.
Lancaster Tuesday Nights.
Bamber Bridge Tuesday Nights.

I think we will be at home on the Wednesday however looking at the other teams they will have one extra day of rest before any possible final on teh Saturday.

Also Heritage Park is in use on Tue 29th April and Friday 2nd May, the day before both of our possible home play off games.

That's just the way it goes I guess when your sharing.

Latest Scores (Now Half-Times.)

Curzon 0 Farsley 2
New Mills 1 Lancaster 1

Looking like a massive game for Farsley on Saturday against us.

Also Dunston 0 Spenny 1 at half time, looks like Spenny are coming up. Hopefully we will be in the division above though but if not a derby game there.

I more see it as a very important game for us to pick up the pace of our play .... The games over the last week or so have been a bit of a stroll, with all due respect, and we need a game against better opposition pretty badly really .... Especially considering our last two games before the play off tie. Win, lose or draw on Saturday, what we get out of it mentally, physically and technically regards to our tactics and team is crucial to our chances. Momentum, of course is also vital, so it's a massive game for us too ... ;) but I know what you mean re Farsley ....

Lancaster beaten at New Mills. Farsley now in the final playoff place at the expense of Ramsbottom. Saturday's game against Farsley has now got a lot more at stake for both teams.

Darlo can only finish as low as 4th place now.

Looks likely Darlo, Warrington, Bamber Bridge and one other of Farsley, Ramsbottom & Lancaster.

Absolutely. But if we beat Farsley may open the door for Ramsbottom. I don't like that thought much at all. I'm sure we can beat Ramsbottom on our day but we haven't been close so far.
For you to insult me, I must first value your opinion.

They could always still lose every game and accidentally field an inelligible player in one of their remaining games and get docked 3 points

Ramsbottom have Warrington and Bamber Bridge to play, Lancaster have Curzon to play last game of the season. It is going to the wire.

I'm really not sure about our obsession with Ramsbottom being great is.

The home game we were in our spell when we dropped our most points of the season and we were struggling no matter who we played.

To be honest if we finish second its to our advantage and im really not fussed which of the teams we get. If we do finish second we will play one of these three teams in the semis

Ramsbottom - We have picked up 0 points against
Lancaster - 1 point
Farsley - 0 points, (saturday still to come)

Farsley actually have the best away record out of those 3 teams, losing only twice away from home.
