Fan-fucking-tastic.
Re: Groundshare Agreed
bigger news than anything that can or will happen on the pitch this season.
saying that .... lets go get promoted
saying that .... lets go get promoted
Re: Groundshare Agreed
The rugby club have tweeted their excitement at the joint venture to come but did also say that some of their members raised significant concerns which will need to be answered. Hopefully we can do that - the future looks a lot brighter tonight.

Any indication when we can re-locate there? Sure somebody mentioned it'll be mid-season?

Re: Groundshare Agreed
Fantastic news!
Alot of work to be done but a significant hurdle has been overcome tonight, we can now look forward.
I must also give a huge thank you to BAFC for allowing us the use of Heritage Park and putting us up in our hour of need, hopefully we will remain on good terms with them.
And quite amusingly it looks like there has already been some confusion on twitter with someone stating we were going back to the Arena!

Re: Groundshare Agreed
I don't think it can be over-stated just how important this "yes" vote is.
If we're back in Darlo, sharing facilities and working with the rugby club, the opportunities for the club to progress are massive.
A "no" vote would have been a disaster.
A lot of work to do, but tonight is huge.

Re: Groundshare Agreed
Brilliant news for us, were coming home
Re: Groundshare Agreed
Great news, Blackwell was the only way I could see us getting back to Darlo. Now lets get cracking with the fund raising, volunteering to get at least the minimum requirement work done. With hard work and the summer months may just be ready for the start of next season. Happy days.
Ding, ding home time...somehow DFC have to get back to Darlo.

Re: Groundshare Agreed
Great news to wake up too.
Despite not living in the town anymore it feels wrong us not playing there. For a long long time I always fancied playing at Blackwell and sharing with the rugby club I think if all is done well it could be a real boost for both teams and create a good little sports hub in the town for all to enjoy.
The idea of the fans sharing support for both teams on and off the field.
A big well done and thank you to all of those that are dedicating there spare time to the cause.

Re: Groundshare Agreed
Absolutely wonderful news...
Just what we need to move to the next level, the pessimist in me saw us as Maidstone mkII, away for a generation, but this decision gives me renewed optimism that we will go places and I look forward to good relations between the Football and Rugby Clubs

Re: Groundshare Agreed
First of all, thanks to the DRFC members for agreeing to share the ground - it can't have been easy to bring in a 'lodger' who follows a different rulebook. Both sides need to get together asap and form a Project Board to define exactly what needs to be done and devise a plan that will enable both clubs to improve and benefit from the initiative.
Timescales are tight and again it is important to properly plan the work required to get the ground up to Skrill League standard. From a fan's point of view, some of us are rich in time but poor in disposable income, so would like to know what activities I could volunteer for over the summer. Please keep open all channels of communication so fans can get involved in the relocation and rebuilding of the club.
I am sure there are a number of unsung heroes behind these efforts and you will know who you are, but thanks again for your work from one grateful old git as the novelty of going up to Heritage Park was starting to wear off. Having said that, thanks also to Bishop Auckland FC for hosting us over this difficult period.
All I want now is for Martin Gray to sort the team out so we are successful through the play-offs and use this great news as the boost to enable us to get promotion this year.

This is fantastic news and hopefully the start of a very successful long term partnership.
I can't wait to be watching Darlo playing in town again at some point next season.

Fantastic news. Is there a report/release anywhere? How close was the vote? What concerns were there? I am sure there are some DRFC supporters still against it; what do we need to do to bring them onside?

Re: Groundshare Agreed
70 votes cast and 54 in favour was the text I got last night.
Re: Groundshare Agreed
the points put up on their website as concerns are all understandable, especially if both teams are meant to be at home on the same day, but there is ways around it, friday night football
Re: Groundshare Agreed
Yeh I don't think the concerns are that concerning (haha). They are manageable.
Has anyone got access to those docs that are posted - we haven't seen them yet? If they can fancy uploading somewhere more public and sharing?

Do the FA not insist that football club have primacy of tenure when groundsharing with non football club?

Re: Groundshare Agreed
Cant remember the date, but dont we have to tell the FA where we will be playing next season? I think it was the end of this month?

Re: Groundshare Agreed
Yeh we have priority, that was parts of initial discussions. I think it was decided that the Rugby club would have to play on the seconds pitch if that is the case. The hope is that the 35 games can be played in the 40 weeks they need to be played in without causing any issue.spen666 wrote:Sidarlo wrote:the points put up on their website as concerns are all understandable, especially if both teams are meant to be at home on the same day, but there is ways around it, friday night football
