Take-away businesswoman becomes latest Darlington FC investo
I noticed the players had the Subway logo on the training tops when they were warming up on Saturday at Radcliffe, all makes sense now.

Bit harsh to call them take-aways - if it wasn't for Subway I wouldn't know what salad is

Subway to have the catering franchise at the new ground?
Re: Take-away businesswoman becomes latest Darlington FC inv
That would be interesting...I haven't ever seen a mobile subway van (do they exist?).spen666 wrote:Subway to have the catering franchise at the new ground?
Hey as long as it isn't exclusive and they pay a fee for the priveledge it would be an interesting alternative to the norm!

Really good to see a local business lady (even as part of a global franchise) taking a real opportunity to be part of this, removes any excuses from other franchises for not investing.
Have never visited Subway, but to many visits to the other well known establishments. Look a healthier option, so will give it a go in Skinnergate.

You must be very strong willed to go to Subway when Taylors pies are only 15 yards away.tezza wrote:Really good to see a local business lady (even as part of a global franchise) taking a real opportunity to be part of this, removes any excuses from other franchises for not investing.

Agree I only get as far as Taylors

There may be restrictions in franchise agreements that prevent other franchisees investing in or even advertising at a football club.tezza wrote:Really good to see a local business lady (even as part of a global franchise) taking a real opportunity to be part of this, removes any excuses from other franchises for not investing.
.....
It would depend on the terms of the franchise agreements and different franchisors will have different rules.
Still, its always good for a football club to get local businesses on board. The more the better

We should remember these things when deciding on a Take-away lunch!

So, am I right in assuming that around £30K will be transferred into the Back to Darlo fund? If so, we'll be over half way won't we? Fantastic!Darlogramps wrote:Squareknot pitches updated now: £85,453 raised.

Amazing effort.

I'd be surprised if that money was transferred into the B2D fund. The club said that money would be used to improve the infrastructure of Blackwell Meadows to facilitate the move home but have never said that it would be added directly to the B2D fund. I might be wrong mind!MikeinBlack2 wrote:So, am I right in assuming that around £30K will be transferred into the Back to Darlo fund? If so, we'll be over half way won't we? I don't care which bank account it sits in, the end goal and result is the same! If we have an extra £30k to go towards the return home then that is a fair amount on top of the £10k that is already in there (especially when overall target is £100k).BlackandwhiteBOB wrote:The club said that money would be used to improve the infrastructure of Blackwell Meadows to facilitate the move home but have never said that it would be added directly to the B2D fund.
I am not sure if that is actually what will be done though. Am I right in thinking we have about £60k of unstructured debts to pay off? I think it would be a good idea to get that wiped with the fundraising schemes.
The Dan Burn money gives us plenty of headroom for our structured debt and also to buy some stock of replica kit for the new season as well - a much better operating model.
We are already down to about £80k after Squareknot's fees. If £60k went to unstructured debt we would be left with £20k to put towards the move home, that basically covers our consultancy fees and means that £10k is raring to go to be spent on paving/fencing/turnstyles. IF the rugby club members sign it off.
Hopefully we can get a few of the more 'boring' items with that £10k and we can have a concerted effort to get money in for the new terrace and other big ticket items which people will get people interested.

B2D Fund CIC Initiative.
Development fund DFC Initiative.
Same objective, married but slightly different

Not quite.tezza wrote:B2D Fund CIC Initiative.

I don't believe the development fund was ever cited as being for the return to Darlo. It it an extra funding route to put money into the club to help operationally, for those who want to/can afford regular payments. It is effectively the same as the reward scheme but over a longer term and you don't get a token share.
All money from equity scheme/reward scheme and development fund go into the DFC account to be used as deemed fit by the club. The CIC B2D scheme is a seperate account and will only be spent on the new ground.
The CIC are leading the return to Darlo initiative. It just so happens that MJ suggested that DFC will use excess funds for that end. In which case there will be a transfer into the CIC account I would imagine, or some invoices will be sent to DFC rather than the CIC!
That is my understanding anyway.

Well, I normally use Greggs when I'm up there in B&B, guess it'll be Subway from here on in. Welcome to the Darlo clan, hope it brings you an increase in turnover.
