If by some miracle the rain stays away that will be gone by Saturday. If it does rain we are seriously struggling.

One of the lines at the fans forum was how much postponed games impact the clubs finances. It isn't just lost revenue but COSTS such as suppliers (catering, programme printing etc) that hit hard, with the money not coming in for what could be months for that particular game. Then we are talking a rescheduled midweek game which will be detrimental to the attendance too.

Hopefully lady luck shines down and dries the ground out a bit before the fans can play their part and fork the pitch right up. :)

Saw the pitch this morning. With the amount of water on it and the bad forecast for the next 48 hours there is no chance this game will be on.

£760 for a waterhog and we might be able to sort the water logging and not lose Saturday games to flooding and rearranged weekday games and lower attendances, one rearranged game would cost more than this in lost revenue

Seems quite a good investment. I don't imagine that the Rugby Club has it's own micro climate where it doesn't rain so we'll get use out of it.

Might be worth you sending that info into the club.

The club are aware and the Trust are discussing it with them apparently

Not that I'm aware of but I understand we have one at our disposal but the groundsman does not like them, all hearsay I saw on twitter

The one saving grace is that tomorrow is forecast to be largely dry, if and its a big IF enough of the standing water drains away saturday's downpour might not affect it too badly.

However at this stage I believe there is zero chance of Bishop's game being on tomorrow night, ours has a slight chance.

The question then is where is the £760 going to come from? And what if we get it just for the game to get called off anyway? Too much of a risk and money simply can't afford to shell out currently!

It's been dry today in Bishop and there is still standing water plus it is raining now.

The club have confirmed they have access if required to a water soaker (I presume Marske's again). However it is felt that they churn the ground up and the pitch is already in a state where it is churned up already.

The thought was thanked but it is not something the club currently require.

The only thing we can hope for is the rain is not too heavy but I have the feeling we may have a saturday off this week.

Bishop are playing at home on Friday so I assume if that's off then Darlo's game will defo be off considering the amount of rain still to come :(

Probably got more chance of the game being on at the moment if Bishop game is off.

Just have to see what happens.

Bishop game if off, last nights rain has beat them.

We have a chance but I think it will be a struggle with rain due tonight. Expect the call for help in the morning again.

It will be interesting to understand what would need to be invested in to protect ourselves from the weather.

Outside of extortionate groundworks what are we missing that could just give us that extra chance of getting games one.

If you can get some good assurances of avoiding postponements. We stop missing out on those Saturday revenues and exiles have more confidence when it comes to booking travel for home games

I had a look at the pitch today at 2pm and there was a line of standing water down the middle of the pitch, stretching well outside the centre circle.
In my opinion after tonights game not going ahead that there is a good chance that the game goes ahead if there is no further downpours.
Lets look at the sky and hope the rain passes us by
