Kendal Update

Post by cammy » Fri Jan 31, 2014 4:08 pm

Heavy Rain today, but cleared up at 4pm and the pitch drains well.
The forecast is better for tomorrow but we have arranged for the match referee to come at 10.30am.
As for calling it off today there are rules which do not allow clubs to do so.
There will be a recorded message on the club number 01539 727472 as soon as we get a decision.

I think the problem last time was that a definite decision was not reached by 'travelling time'. It would be a good idea to say Yes or No by the latest time the team can travel. Say 12.00? Inspection after that is problematic.
let's get a new FA. This one's broken.

I can see the same happening as last time. They say it's definitely on, people travel, heavy downpour, match abandoned at about 1 / 2.

Either that or we'll end up playing on 'Kendal Beach'...

Saying that... Just seen a picture of the pitch and it seems it's held up well.

Once bitten, twice shy... Weather forecast is heavy rain from around 2 till 5, my forecast is match abandoned halftime or earlier. Probably a good thing, our kind of football doesn't work well in a quagmire - look how we struggled at Ossett - and I'd rather wait till we get a decent pitch even though it does mean a blank afternoon today. Third time lucky...

Yes, they would!

We have previous for multiple postponements. I think Shrewsbury during one of the last Feethams seasons proved to be very difficult, called off maybe 3 times ?

Not going to chance o it this time. Traveled last time rang them when only 30 mins away while driving through torrential rain to them saying game on no doubt. Only to arrive to a waterlogged cancelled match . Putting into BTD fund instead.
