Looks like Quakerz was right when he said it was doomed.

Part in front of the main stand was the problem

Really shocked. Hard in places with 2 hours to go. If anyone is around at 3 I'd be interested to know how it is looking.

Just been really unlucky that the temp dipped so low last night. Probably the coldest night of the winter. Now there is a storm with a deluge on the way for overnight and waterlogging will be the problem for Saturday.

It'll look exactly the same without any work taking place on it. It's too much to ask teams to travel in the hope that it might be better at 3pm anyway.

Ah well. Let's just make sure our south stand doesn't have a high roof!

From past experience anything under shade is always the issue. Was when we had the snow last season. Majority of the pitch was playable but the bit in front of the main stand was always dodgy. Gutted for everyone's efforts, they gave it a chance, we've just been unlucky.

Like Hilly says you can't wait around until 3pm. You have to make a decision at some point for the travelling opposition and fans. To be perfectly honest I think the late decision would have affected the crowd, a lot of people will be slumped in front of the TV now with a run of games on Sky.

Disappointed.

Well might as well start it off.

£9 entry
£2.20 programme
£1 50:50
£6 for the bus

£18.80. I will make it a round £20. Where is the best place to send it!?

A real shame as it would have brought much needed revenue into the club.

What a shame after all the hard work done by supporters. Would have been a big crowd with the extra revenue more than welcome. Will have to hope for the best on Saturday after all the rain forecast tonight and Friday.

Up to you really, I'm doing the same and with it being 20 quid will probably bung it in the back to Darlo fund.

When I got there at 9 this morning I wouldn't have given it a prayer of being on, but to be honest it really wasn't far off being fit for purpose by the time the ref arrived, she just said that she couldn't take the risk which to be honest was fair enough. The players were warming up on it and falling all over the place.

Just keep our fingers crossed that the rain misses HP tomorrow and we get a game n Saturday.

Ideally it needs to go into immediate cash flow in my book. After all that is what we have lost out on from the game being off.

I am just going to give it to my parents to hand over as a donation next time they are at the club. Hopefully if a number of us do this it will soften the losses for the day.

Was the referee called Helen by any chance?

Since the club will have had expenses today, it would be best in the club general fund

I will be donating directly to Laura effectively and she can decide how to account for it haha.

The club should actually do better out of me as a result anyway. Taking into account VAT, prize money and money that wasn't destined for the club (trust bus) I am paying in £20 rather than £9.46!

Wakefield didn't have a coach that I could see. It looked like they were in cars to me.
