Buxton Away

Post by MCFC Darlo » Sun Oct 06, 2013 4:30 pm

Been to watch the Bucks a few times.

There is an hourly train service from Manchester and the ground is within walking distance of the station albeit up a big hill.

Pitch has a bad sideways slope and 3 covered sides.

There is a good club bar at the ground which serves well priced beers.

Apologies if you have seen this video before but probably the best football song ever?

How many do you think will be down for this?

The expense for Darlo Fans going to away games this season must be horrendous.

£15 to every game.

Sure that beat the trips to Torquay & Exeter!

Thats fantastic value,well done Darlo.

I cant afford the £50 plus ticket and travel to West Ham Sat(been a lot in the 80s & 90s anyway)so its a £6 train ride to Buxton for me and my lad.Darlo being in this league has been great for me.

Torquay from Darlo, thats support for you!

It's the supporters club who made the agreement with bus company for the set fee for all games - really good idea.

I might be wrong but I think only 6 people made it last time out - but then it was our league two relegation season.

Well you have to pay extra to transport woodland animals don’t you (deer?)

Try splitting your ticket. You have two options really Transpennie via Leeds or Cross Country via Sheffield (if you go for the second route the East Midlands trtains should be cheapest from Sheffield to Stockport)

Try Darlo - York - Sheffield- Stockport - Buxton or Darlo York/Leeds - Huddersfield/Staylbridge-Manchester-Buxton

Bit late now mind - usual caveats apply - i.e. your fault if you fuck up your tickets and get a penalty fare! ;)

There is also a bus station next to the railway station in Sheff that has a bus that goes to Buxton, quicker than going Stockport and then from there to Buxton.

Are there any decent pubs, with food, near the ground?

Sorry dont know it that well but the ground although on a hill is close to Buxton centre.Few pubs and places to eat as its a Spa Town so they get a lot of day visitors.
