Apparently they're giving away free green and white scarfs to the first 100 people through the gate when they play Newcastle Benfield.

I had to resist the urge to say that they'll have about 50 going spare...!

Of course you mean after giving 40 odd to Benfield fans? :)

Carlisle fans could always try and offload them onto Yeovil visitors when they next play each other...

It's £2 to get in and watch them play Newcastle Benfield tomorrow apparently.

It was £2 in against Guisborough and they got 240 through the gates, who knows where all them came from

I noticed that the Spennymoor striker Micky Rae has decided to end his trial at Hartlepool and signed for Celtic Nation. The final insult for the no-goals Hangers. But they need to be getting familiar with some of these players and clubs because in the not too distant future....

Dunno but I noticed on their twitter feed there were a few posters with the Celtic logo as their picture.

I don't believe for a second that they are planted by Celtic but they could be a gamble. Bring the club up and they can eventually sell them off as the Celtic presence in England. Massive gamble if that is the case.

I saw a tweet with a picture from the game and there are literally 0 fans in the background of it.

I know it is still early on, but they are seemingly averaging over 200 up to now this season

Given they are cutting ticket prices to a couple of quid and free-entry. This is no surprise really.

They're currently top of the league although they have played more games than most.

The figures are different when you exclude the opening game of the season where there was around 450 there, and then average figure is very different.

The opening game was part of a ground hop weekend, so had lots of neutrals there doing the first 3 game ground hop in Cumbria, CN at Lunchtime, Whitehaven at 3 and Penrith for night game.

Forgot about the Cumbria Hop, even if without that 400+ attendance there average would still be around the 170 figure, which for them is impressive considering they have only averaged 3 old hillbillies and a whippet for the last few years, are they blackmailing/bribing people to turn up

Just read this interview done with guy who's bankrolling them. If they succeed then good on them, but the vast amount of player/staff turnover they've had from their 'Big Names' in the last couple of years doesn't bode well.

They've signed Matthew Grieve - was he the not very good one we had for a bit early last season?

Think so, left shortly after Guisborough defeat?

After reading that, I hope they fail!

£2 a ticket no doubt helps

To be fair Grieve wan't great that night but I don't think it was a true reflection of him as a player, pretty much every player was poor that night.

Good luck to the lad, Ashington fans seem to rate him as a very reasonable centre half, who played week in week out for a team who were decent.
