Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
I've lost count of the amount of separate Facebook and twitter accounts that are involved with the club now.
Why the need for match updates to be separate?

Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
false illusions of grandeur. Most clubs, especially at Conf Prem and below manage perfectly well with 1 twitter account for the club.
Why fragment the support? the idea that we have to help spread the word reenforces the fact that floating fans, members of the local community and others who follow the main account won´t know to follow this new separate account.
Change for changes sake in my opinion

We should just have 1 twitter account - 1 Facebook account and 1 website. Simple

Not mocking the good idea though - great for people not being able to make every match!

Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
I thought using the official page is more useful, losing track of how pages we have.
Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
I've said for a while that the club is diluting it's brand and this is just another step in that direction unfortunately.

Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
Agree with Hilly to be honest. I really don't think we need another twitter account / facebook page. It just dilutes the support and fragments people. It seemed to work perfectly fine last season having everything on one account.
Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
I'm particularly looking forward to Official Darlo Stewards, Quaker 50-50 and Darlo Pies.
I like how they all RT each other over and over. Great stuff.

Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
I can only think this has happened as they do not want to give those who do the match updates the "keys" to the official twitter.....
Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
I think it has everything to do with that. Firstly, Tori was removed mid-season without a reason as no-one had the bottle to give her one after she was the one who got the two sites back up and running, they then installed themselves as administrator of them both so that they could have control. Towards the end of the season I did a few a games before being kicked out, again no reason forthcoming. I was then reinstated by James before me and Luke (who had done all the home games) were both kicked off again a month or so later among others who had helped the club out and guess what, no reason again.divas wrote:I can only think this has happened as they do not want to give those who do the match updates the "keys" to the official twitter.....
Someone has had the power go to their heads over social media and I have a good idea on who it is.
Quite frankly, anyone with half a brain cell can see why you keep everything in one place, if you want to capture your target audience you need to keep everything in one place.
The official darlo pages should control everything from commercial, match scores, match previews, retail so that the followers they've attracted have access to everything.
Every other club manages it, why do we feel the need to complicate everything????

Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
One thing this club has never quite wriggled free from, is power-mad fans who can't enjoy it for what it is and need 100% control, often ruining things for everyone with selfish decision making.
I didn't know there was somebody keeping social media to themselves but in all honesty Tori seemed to have the job sewn up. There is always some undercurrent swirling away with DFC!

Credit to you Sam for your input and having the patience to put up with them

I agree with everything above though - I reckon any club below probably the Premiership can manage with one twitter, one facebook, and a website. There is quite simply no need for seperate accounts for every bit of work that goes on within the club - keep everything in one place, easy to find and nobody misses any information.
edit: Just to add, the updates via facebook and twitter were spot on all through last season - as an exile who only made it to one match they were invaluable for me to keep up to date on the score wherever I was. Better even than what was available through 'official' channels such as the BBC back in the days we were a professional club. Same goes for the highlights on youtube.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
I agree that we are ok with only 1 Twitter feed and 1 Facebook...
Though if done right I dont see a problem with a Twitter feed for match updates...
Use the offcial Twitter for club updates i.e signings and other official news etc only and a match update feed for matchdays only

Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
I personally don't like the new match update page. I prefer 1 page for the whole club.
The Offical Darlo page should be used for everything wether it be updates, signings, news and sponsorship.
I just don't understand why we have so many facebook pages/twitter profiles. Trying to find them all baffles me. Why not just use the 1 page for the whole club?

It's a waste and totally needless, if you're going to RT and share the updates on the official pages why not just post them on there anyway? Baffled

Re: Quaker Match Centre twitter/Facebook live updates
do we even need facebook and twitter. That would simplify things even more.
clearly, the aim is to have one web-site. The Clyde web-site is my preferred choice.

Quakers Retail
Darlo CIC
Darlington match center
All need putting into one twitter and Facebook account. Then all they need to do is at the end of a post put
QR = Quaker Retail
DCIC = Darlington CIC
etc etc.

An account on all the big social networking sites, updated singularly which costs less time!
