E-Mail from Martin Gray/Club

Post by super_les_mcjannet » Sun Jun 30, 2013 3:11 pm

Email received from the club/Martin Gray, I am assume all those who have given email address probably via the CIC will get one of these.
Martin Gray wrote:
Thank you for your support last season – our attendances were fantastic and winning the Northern League was just the beginning. I’ve strengthened the squad even further during the summer break and I can’t wait to get the players back for pre-season. We have put together a really good set of pre-season friendlies and it would be great to sell out Heritage Park against Sunderland and Middlesbrough in July.

The club has now got a terrifically committed board of Directors who are working non-stop to ensure progress is being made in a professional and business-like manner. I’d urge as many of you as possible to come and support us by getting a season ticket for next season, and help to fill Heritage Park to capacity for all our home games by becoming ‘the 12th man’. By doing so you will help provide me with a competitive playing budget and also further financial stability for the club.

Stevie J said to me in the dressing room after the Team North game: “Darlo fans are just amazing. I feel so proud playing for my home town club and the team I supported as a kid. I’m looking forward to playing a part next season and with the fans behind us like they were last season, I’m sure we’ll be fighting for promotion again”.

You can download your season ticket form from our official website (http://www.darlington1883.co.uk/?page_id=1282) – fill it in, and send it with a cheque back to Heritage Park, or drop it in to the club shop as soon as you can. If you have sent your form in the last couple of days just give this one to one of your friends!

I’m expecting sell-outs at many games this season and the main stand at the stadium has now sold out to season ticket holders already. I can tell you that the club is organizing a special draw at every home game this season, exclusively for season ticket holders, and they’ll be some great prizes for the winners. Watch out for more details on this before the start of the season. A reminder that the deadline for returning season ticket forms is 14th July 2013.

Thank you for your support and I look forward to another very successful season both on and off the pitch. Hope to see as many of you as possible at our pre-season friendlies starting at Shildon on Friday July 12th. The full list of pre-season friendlies can be found on the official website at http://www.darlington1883.co.uk

A nice message from Martin, but I am a bit concerned that there is nothing in there to panic about, no mention of going bust or anything. Come on Martin, this is Darlo....we need alarm and despondency or we simply cannot thrive and make it through the day!
Only joking, a nice touch to gently encourage support.
Come on Darlo!

Excellent - flapping about the lack of anything to flap about.

Only you, mike.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Anyone else get this email yet? I haven't got one but hopefully they are just being sent to those CIC members who haven't bought a season ticket yet.

well I meet that criteria and I got one, so maybe.

Quite good targetted e-mailing though, good to see some intelligence on that front rather than a blanket communication.

As mentioned above should all be sorted, I think a little misunderstanding and confusion but I believe the invoice will be out hopefully next week.

From what I understand it's a case of completing all/most invoices at the same time as opposed to drip feeding them out.

Bit late to the party (been away for a long weekend) but it's great to see the club reaching out to last season's STH's. Understandably not every STH will have an email sexy, but this is certainly better than nothing.

Well done the people who forced this through.
