Bishop will be fine and without going back into it we could never of risked playing at the arena as we simply couldn't afford it at the time.

I have no idea who your question is to, or what it is to be honest.

Why the f*** do people even think about going back to that graveyard? If anything goes wrong at HP im sure the board could sort another ground share with say shildon or waste aukland, although the latter would double rental charges

Agreed, to a point.

The two grounds you have mentioned do not meet Evo Stik level grading, if HP went tits up our next best bet would probably be Spenny!

as regarding sharing with West Auckland, we should never go down that slippery slope...
let's get a new FA. This one's broken.

It killed us because we couldn't afford to run it.

If it's even available and a reasonable rental deal and the sums add up, then it's the best, quickest, and only blue square north graded route back into town.

We are simply going to have to go back there for a while, IF we are able to.

Unfortunately the Arena is more than just the numbers. It's the stigma attached to it. We've had fans returning in droves who stopped going and list the arena amongst their reasoning. We need somewhere that will keep our returning fans, and allow rose who have stopped going since we left the town to return. A difficult challenge.

Given Bishop don't even own the ground I'd find it highly unlikely that if something happened to them we'd not be able to utilise it.

Im not sure on this argument at all, have we had fans returning in droves, our attendances dont suggest that at all.

Reality is we've gained some, lost more, but whether how much of the loss is down to moving out of town and how much is the level we're playing at is open to debate.

Quakerz making total sense.

If we get the chance to go back and its affordable im all for it and it will be completely different to last time in terms of the running costs etc..

Hertiage Park is all very nice, but we need to have Darlington FC playing back in Darlo as soon as its possible (have every confidence with the people in charge that they will do the right thing) and not being nomads pitching up at different villages around the county for the next 5 - 10 yrs.

Possibility of being back in Darlo for season 2014/2015 but if not achieved we would have to look at other options Martin Jesper mentioned maybe upgrading HP.

Let's not be daft I think the site of stadium is more than likely decided and it's now all about nailing down the bits and pieces and signing the deal. Martin Jesper I thought alluded to this as they don't want to discuss any preferred routes and rule out other options in case something went wrong.

Once this is done get ready for a big request to be involved especially financially.

Personally I will be happily surprised if anything will be ready for 14/15 but if this turns into the aim I wonder what the rules are in regards to certain elements being completed. Does it all have to be done by March 2014 or can you get extensions on certain stuff like Ryhope/Heaton Stannington etc in the NL.

I'd assume we already have done this.

Unless you know that Mowden are offering an affordable rent and would actually want us there, I don't see the point of your rant.

Not sure DMP want us is point number 1. Other than that, I hope the only way we end up returning is for a season max if we should get the necessary consecutive promotions and a new ground isn't ready.
It's a fall back, a plan b. Thats all. It's the easy option but we need to stay focused on a new ground in town that we can have for generations to come.

Yep, although it might not be the greatest ground in the world but it will be ours.

Yep ... me too ... and it will be well within 10 years. Like is suggested above, it'll be constructed just to the minimum spec for our needs and the regulations we face .... no more. There will clearly be scope to upgrade though at a later date.

In the mean time until its sorted, the upgrade of HP (which won't be a fortune) sounds more attractive than going back to the Arena. But if it's a goer with DMP, (and I've heard it's not), and it's a cheaper option than upgrading HP, then so be it. I think most of us could cope with one year at the Arena   providing that we know that it is just a stop gap til the ground is completed etc.

All well and good if we'd had this ground when we kicked off in the NL and had something basic we can add to each season.

However we're now looking at the probability that this ground will have to be up to BSN standard straight away.
