i could have sworn carl pepper played RB that game.
Correct. Didn't he go off injured, or get sent off or something?
If you are thinking of the 7-2 game then Pepper won't have played as he left before then.

He played at the start of the 98 - 99 season then Hodgy brough in Kubicki for a while think Pepper got a free at the end of that season.

We did take a player off after about 25 minutes, Martin Gray came on ( I think we had just gone 3 or 4 nil down) don't know who it was , possibly Mark Kilty.

Pepper was definitely still with us in 00/01 as he also played in our win against Forest in the previous round.

Im 99% sure he wasnt released until midway thru the 00/01 season.

It was Kilty that went off early on for Gray, i think we we're 3 down inside about the first 10 mins - i arrived late after about 12 mins and he was just going off, Bennett picked an utterly horrific line up that day.

DARL - you seem to have missed the point of this thread. At least you stopped posting in that irritating oversized red font though.

No one of this name has ever played for Darlo.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

Pretty sure Hodgy trialled Ikangu along with another countryman in 2005.

Edit - He was part of the youth team
Darlington are set to snap up promising young midfielder Elie Ikangu

The deal is agreed, and the club is waiting for international clearance to take the 18-year-old Frenchman.

However, he is unlikely to burst immediately on to the League Two scene, as assistant manager Mark Proctor

"He's initially coming in to join the youth set-up, but has definite potential," said Proctor.

"He has played alongside some very good players, who have moved on to bigger things, including Lassana Diarra"

"We are hoping Elie quickly develops into a first team player, but won't expect too much of him immediately."

French midfielder Elie Ikangu has left the club after failing to make an impact since his summer move and he has since tried his luck at Middlesbrough.

Jose Quitongo . . Same season as Pedro Paulo. Played just once for Darlo then became a minor success north of the border for Hamilton ( I think)
Minor success .... oh my word. He was great up here

Hamilton, St Mirren, Hearts, Kilmarnock, Alloa.

Watched him played many a time at St Mirren... loved his work rate and energy but did get tired very quickly.

Remember him outjumping Kevin James (6ft 7 or there abouts) in a game vs Airdrie.

He was too lightweight for the english game apparently.

Very polite man off the park, his wife is from up here.
