Grimsby v Wrexham FA Trophy Final
Re: Grimsby v Wrexham FA Trophy Final
flicked over now...was watching Tranmere Stevenage. English commentary doesn't seem to be working very well - unless they are talking with an extremely thick accent!
Ok it's working now...

So glad we avoided these when we were down there.

So that's the League Cup & FA Trophy gone to Wales this year...Championship title is the next one by the looks of it!

Not a great way to lose, pleased Senior popped up with his header for us.
Not Grimsby really need to sort the league form out or they get naff all this season, well done to the taff's, they have shafted the English all ends up recently.

Cieslewicz is a quality player at that level, changed the game for Wrexham when he came ontdk1 wrote:Cieslewicz has just torn Grimsby to shreds - deserved a goal. Seem to remember he scored past us last season, but then who didn't?

Just never thought Wrexham fans come across as supportive or friendly fans.
Deserved the win today though, by far the better team.

They were last year, very. Here's a typical one. The complete opposite of those Grimsby fans who tried to kick us when we were down.AndyPark wrote:Just never thought Wrexham fans come across as supportive or friendly fans.

Or how about the dickheads who jumped in the Darlo stand away to Wrexham 2 years back. They scored a last minute winner and there stewards did nothing but watch as there fans were in out stand trying to fight people.

Ok Andy what about in Grimsby when Sammy Russell saved a retaken penalty after they had initially scored to equalise, loads of objects were thrown into the away stand.
Although I have never been to Wrexham it surely can’t be worse than Cleethorpes which looks like an average area of Bagdad but without the good weather.

Now is not the time to cry
Now’s the time to find out why
I think you’re the same as me
We’ll see things they’ll never see
Darlo’s going to live forever!

I'd have been happy for either of those two clubs to taste a bit of success at Wembley. Both proper traditional league clubs like us. Well done to Wrexham. Hope both clubs had a good day out - shame it was so bollock cold in London today for them!

There's a sub forum on this website for non darlo related football stuff.
Can this be moved there please mods ?

Re: Grimsby v Wrexham FA Trophy Final
I was at the match yesterday with my mate you supports Grimsby. He also put money into our club.
It was a terrible game, like two blind men groping in the dark. Wrexham were the better side, just, but Grimsby didn’t really play their game. At times they had a front 2 ( or 1!) and a back 8/9.
In the first half of the game there was no midfield for either side with Grimsby the worst offenders. The first half was dire turgid stuff with both sides seeming scared to play. Grimsby changed it the second half to a 4-5-1 and caused trouble with a bit of width and scored with their one decent bit of play. Wrexham responded by brining on Chizelwitz ( or whatever) and he ran the game from then on. I couldn’t see who gave the penalty away but several Grimsby dived in and the Wrexham player went over. It looked soft but you have seen them given, as they say.
Grimsby were on fumes before the end of 90 and their keeper, who deserved MOM in my opinion rather than the former hanger for Wrexham, kept them alive. Their penalties were some of the worst I have ever seen and it was bloody freezing

A very succinct account, especially the last paragraph.

Cannot fault Wrecsam's fans last season, compared to the bile we were subjected to by some Town fans who never forgave us for being better than them in League 2
