You have to scroll down to January 27th, but basically, despite what the fixtures guy was saying a week or two ago, we've got the strongest indication yet that the NL will end up applying for up to a two week extension to the season.

On another note...
Celtic Nation v Dunston tonight is off, are they ever going to get a match on again? They're (Celtic Nation) still on only 19 matches played and are in one of the cups.
So waterlogging is going to play havoc this week, then it's going to get colder again from the weekend, bringing frosts back into the picture.

Extending the league is going to be inevitable isn't it?

Re: Amos' Blog
Maybe the way ahead for next season, and let's hope it doesn't involve us lol, would be to start the season a week (or two?) earlier perhaps?
COME ON DARLO!
Re: Amos' Blog
The problem is that it diminishes the close season especially if this season finishes a fortnight late. Finish two weeks late, start two weeks earlier, the players wouldn't get much of a break at all.
The simplest way to relieve fixture congestion is to reduce the amount of clubs from 24 to 22, which is incidentally the maximum size that a step 5 league can be from next season onwards.
The NL must push for this.

The football season 'officially' (for registration purposes) starts on 1st July, preliminary FA Cup games start on 10th August this year, really wouldn't leave much at this level for pre-season friendlies amongst pre-season training.
As Quakerz says the best solution would be the NL dropping down to 22 teams.

Are we eligible for the FA Cup next season, or will we have to have a season in the Trophy or Vase before we can go back into the FA Cup???lo36789 wrote:The football season 'officially' (for registration purposes) starts on 1st July, preliminary FA Cup games start on 10th August this year, really wouldn't leave much at this level for pre-season friendlies amongst pre-season training.

As much as its unlikely, how much of a fairytale would it be to win the Trohpy next yearFibonacci0112358 wrote:Must play in Trophy or Vase first.
