New Stadium in years to come....

Post by Darlo Till I Die » Fri Jan 18, 2013 8:17 am

Does anyone know the possible options? We need to make sure that
A) it's going to make us money
B) we own the whole thing?

Also another thing... Should we be building a stadium good enough for bsp or evostick level?

I'm sure these are all questions the board members who are looking at that particular work stream will have considered. Hopefully it won't be too long before the options are made public.

Twas a question I belatedly asked the Trust to raise with the Board after I read the thread about fund-raising for a new stadium the other day - and I think it's already been asked of them. It'd be good if they could give us an idea of what stage we're at - and whether the change in ownership of the Arena has given any cause for reconsideration on that front.

I know this is wishful thinking, but we have to make sure that it is good enough for whatever league we aim to be in in 2-3 years but also has the potential to be good enough for where we aim to be in 10+ years time, we need to avoid being too short sighted into the future.

It should be BSN/BSP standard with the ability to add quickly and cheaply to make it BSP/FL standard if/when required. Wishful thinking I know, but we should in the short term be looking at BSN and in the medium term BSP with FL coming a bit later.

Is a ground share at the arena not an option?

I'm sure the board will be looking at all the options. It might be in the short term but I'm not sure what sort of condition the pitch would be in after a few months of punishment from both us and Mowden Park, and it'd be no good if we suddenly found ourselves homeless again 2 or 3 years down the line if the rugby club runs out of cash.

Feethams has been sat there for a long time doing nothing so that seems about as likely a place as any to me - at least we wouldn't have to move the Tin Shed.

A ground share would be easier on your finances as you progress up the leagues mind.
