Post by Darlo_Pete » Fri Oct 26, 2012 12:07 pm

As its one of our shorther trips tomorrow and its accessible by train, I was wondering who was planning to make the trip to Synthonia? I'm going with 3 others.

Me!
This away game is nearer than a home game for me. Looking forward to going to an away match where the home team are not trying to rip me off!

Was wanting to go but I'm out for a meal tomorrow night and with it being an early start it's going to be two much of a run around doing both.

Too much.

A schoolboy error by me there. It'll never happen again.

Well you'll either have to dance with the devil and drink keg or go thirsty because real ale is in very short supply in Billingham!

Me and 2 others. Should be a great day. That stand looks very good for this level and have good acoustics for 1,000+ of us.

I'll be going. The stand looks pretty decent so I'll make an effort and film this one for highlights.

So if anyone sits or stands up infront of me you have been warned :-)

Went there a couple of seasons ago for a pre season friendly, stand is a decent size, similar setup to consett IMO.

Will probably jump on the train again, easy and cheap journey and the short walk from the station to the ground wont do a porker like me any harm :)

Ditto. I reckon I'll be there.

I played on the ground once for my school (Egglescliffe Comprehensive) against a school from Runcorn in the QF of the National Cup. We drew 1-1 there and then lost the replay 2-1 after a diabolical linesman decision.

Oddly, that night, Runcorn's ground burnt down!

"In 1993–94, their stadium nearly fell apart. A perimeter wall collapsed during a cup game against Hull City, the roof blew off one stand, and the main stand was destroyed by a fire. This crippled the club, which was relegated in 1996 for the first time ever." (from Wiki)

Yep, will be there, need a result from the lads tomorrow after Well crash to a 0 - 4 defeat to Hibs, bloody shocking decisions tonight by the officials although a fair result would have been 1 - 2.

Street parking only I gather.

Yeah street parking only wellindarlo. There is plenty of it though in a non-residential area and only a short walk from the ground. Map below...

Will be there. Been to Synners a few times, plenty of parking along the verges of the carriageway and you can park along the middle. It isn't a busy road to be honest
