Hi Guys,

I have finally got the keys today and I have also taken receipt of the card payment terminal too. I envisage that it will be open this Saturday although we would be looking at doing an official launch the following Saturday. It's in a great corner location and just opposite the newsagents which I am told is the busiest stall in the market.

We have slat board, probably enough to do one wall BUT we need help with screwing them onto the wall and we probably need some bits of 3x2 wood. Two of the slat boards are white, the other two are MDF so I reckon with some white paint and a roller they will look fine. Don't forget we have clothes hanging up on them too. One of the walls could also do with a quick lick of paint and the floor needs a major scrub.

Any volunteers to fix the slatting and to do a bit of painting? Looking for someone pref tomorrow or Thursday at the latest as the stock arrives Thursday and we want to get it in situ Friday.

What I couldn't understand about the response to this post, was that there is a register of volunteers at the top of the board, running to 5 pages with c. 150 names thereon, yet the 2 respondents are not on the list (to the best of my knowledge).
Where was everybody?
And before some smart alick says my name wasn't there, you're right, but i did respond by 'phone.

maybe just maybe the volunteers may be away, working, not local, not comfortable with shop work, have problems with maths etc etc the list is endless but they don't need you coming on here putting them down.
