Should be a good test. Most people on nlz say they have a very good chance of the title. But then again most of their mothers were on crack, booze and fags during pregnancy

Why?

I meant more about his link with Darlington rather than his performance.

Barnes looked okay til Staunton ruined him. Needed to fill out a bit but I should certainly be good enough for this level, he was a better player than Dan Groves.

Doesn't look like we'll see too much of Gregan.

Clough in again, he mustn't be far from being offered something

Just got back .... That was a real eye opener in many ways. Watching the new Darlo for the first time was fascinating (if only I knew who everyone was). Never been to Crook before in my life and with all due respect I probs won't go there again. Our whole situation sort of hit my bang on in the face tonight. It's going to be a long road back for sure.

As for the footy ... Crook played to their strength and they seemed to have a lot of it. Whatever did they have for breakfast, I wonder? Darlo were neat and tidy but a little to extravagant at times and clearly not close to their best. The winner was a bit of a relief to be honest but hey ...

Like I say, apart from Purewal up front, I hadn't a clue really who was what.

Up The Quakers

I wonder why Dan Smith hasn't featured yet?

Also it looks like we'll be offering Webster nowt.

Just back from my first pre-season game. I was very impressed mostly with the passing and the calibre of our players for step 5 level. I watched quite a lot of NL football last season and most of our players on show today were a class above from what I have seen.

Jack Norton was solid in goal. He made a really good save in the second half. I think he will be offered something by the management team, same goes to Adam Clough. Centre backs were solid even though it is not Harrison's natural position there. Phil Gray was good tonight as well. The wingers, Nicholls and Emms, were also very good. I was surprised by the pace of Emms, they are both direct wingers that will cause plenty of problems. I don't think we can go wrong with having players like Ellison, Richardson and Scott in the centre midfield either. They all are physical players that tackle hard and can do the simple things right like spreading play or playing a pass. Jamie Clarke can hold up the ball well, you would not think he is 38 years old however, he twice found himself in a promising position to pass and he opted to shoot. Shaun Reay was also good, he works hard and he took his goal well. I thought he had overdone it mind.

As for the subs, NO.25 changed the game. He is a right winger, I was very impressed. The twins came on and did well with Amar getting the goal after great work by Steve Johnson. Connor Lowes came on but didn't really do much of note. I'd offer deals to Norton, Clough and Johnson.
