Even if it did, there's still plenty that would ignore the call for a boycott like me, including me. I'd be disappointed if we don't take at least 200 to 300 over for the game to Scumbria.

Why the animosity towards Cumbria? I don't get it - especially as the whole Jimmy Brass affair was well over a decade ago now.

It'll be interesting to see what implications (if any) that goal against Annan has for the peace process in Syria now

No real benefit I'd imagine. Dodgy tackles on dodgy pitches.
Workington is as low as we send em usually though we did send the reserve keeper to Blyth?

Supposedly they have signed Kris Gate and Craig Baxter.

Also signed Dan Lowson, a goalkeeper who was at Alfreton.

So far they've got him, Arnison and Boyd who you know, and Craig Baxter, Kris Gate and Martin Brittain all from Gateshead.

Gate and Baxter have signed for Bedlington Terriers.

CN have got no chance of getting a foothold in Carlisle, the piss taking fuckers.

Dan Lowson was also at Darlo, amongst quite a few other clubs.

I was at their friendly against our youth team this evening.

Boyd, Arnison, Lowson and Brittain were there, Gate and Baxter weren't.

Final score was 2-2.

I know it was your youth team so hard to judge but were Celtic Nation any good?

Look at the state of that Celtic Nation website... http://www.gillfordparkfc.moonfruit.com/#

The whole thing seems like an enthusiastic pub team, including the name - seriously what is the name all about? I've looked through this thread and still don't understand what the deal is. They're from Carlisle town centre and used to be called Gillford but have changed themselves to green hoops and Celtic Nation for this season? Is it just some rich bloke pumping money in and pissing about?

It's just our luck we've ended up amongst these basket case teams buying the league.

My thoughts exactly - it always seems to happen, not that over the last two seasons we ended up in a position to compete with Crawley or Fleetwood.

The name is aimed at the local Scot/Irish contingent. Good marketing.

It could be argued that Darlo have had at least a few attempts at buying their way out of leagues in the past 15 years just things didn't work out. Can you really begrudge other teams having a bit of fun doing the same...?

If thats true should we changed our name to ManDarlo United and change our stadium name to Old Trafford and our kit to red in hope of attracting the thousands of Man Ure fans.

Was waiting until after the weekend to answer the were they any good question as the youth lads then had Penrith on the Saturday. We drew 1-1 against them, they equalised in the last minute after we'd made quite a few changes.

Having seen both games I'd say that Celtic Nation were a little bit better than Penrith but not by a vast amount.

Martin Brittain was the standout player in the Nation side and the new goalkeeper Dan Lowson did well. Boyd is fit now but looks the type who could get hefty quickly if he's not training full-time.

Penrith were hardworking but limited.

Brilliant!

Now, we could really do with him, if it is true I wonder why he was never approached by us, or was he?

I would say that cost would be pretty obvious.
